To answer the question at hand…I have a gut feeling we end up with Jovic

Is that a bad thing? He is kind of a high ceiling low floor guy, but swing for the fences is not a bad thing. Mid teens is where allot of these foreign players are drafted that turn into superstars. Heck Jokic was a 2nd rounder.

Disregard. Still searching.

Thanks Givony for all the w/shoes measurements when we all want the w/out. I wonder if that was his choice or all he has access to.

Anyways, this sucks. I would bet that the two top targets in here in the leadup to the draft are / will be Dyson Daniels and Tari Eason, both measured awesomely, and we'll all get fully emotionally attached before ending up watching both get drafted before our pick and having to work through the initial disappointment over whoever we're left with.

I wouldn’t be too upset if Koby and company deem him the best fit for the Cavs at 14. It would just be seen as a bit of a reach based on consensus mocks at this point.

I felt this way about Patrick Williams in Okoro's draft: when everything about a prospect seems to fit my ideal prospect and team construction need, they always get drafted JUST before we are on the clock, only for me to read for years after that if they werent taken the pick before us, they definitely would have been our pick.

This changed last draft when my draft wet dream fell to us inexplicably while two much worst prospects with lower ceilings went ahead of him.

Is it possible I can get lucky twice in a row?

Give me Eason or give me Dieng at #14 and I'm ready to roll and move on to the science of perfectly complimenting my core four

I know we both loved Garland and Mobley, but I have been curious. You are a pg guy, so i think your answer might be Garland, but who do you think the better player will be if you had to pick one. I am Mobley, but have love Garlands potential day one, and love his game today. Would you take Mobley over Garland?

Before you point out their games and abilities couldnt be a better fit and they are both future or current all stars, yeah i know that, lol. I just think Mobley has super star written all over him, and Garland has top 5 pg written all over him. Both are neccessary for a championship, but I think Mobley is the harder to replace in 5 years lets say, while Garland might be working on AS Game #4 or #5, Mobley is DPOY and getting votes for MVP.

I think its pretty clear what we need. A big wing with defensive upside. Doesn't matter if their skillset isn't perfect, you aren't going to find that at 14 in any draft. Getting a high skill guy who can contribute and be our 5th guy by 2024-25 is what I am really looking for. Bonus points if we see value in 2022-23. Eason, Sochan, Daniels, Dieng are the the top 4 I would love to see. If we miss out on them, I would grudgingly settle for Ochai, although I am also somewhat intrigued by reaching for Minott, Keegan Brown, or Jalen Williams. If he falls that far, I would take a look at AJ Griffin too. Don't want an all offense, no D guy like Davis or Branham. Don't love Tyty and if he is BPA at 14, I look to trade down and grab one of my reach guys in the late teens.

I dont have to pick because both will win multiple rings and retire in Cleveland so you can take your masochistic exercise somewhere, LEE :chuckle:

I know it seems weird to say but the Cavs really need to hit on someone here…

This is where the Heat took Bam…. Certainly not suggesting there’s a Bam here, but man I wanna see this team start to select later in the draft and really develop some rotational talent like the Celtics and Heat and Warriors and Raptors and Grizzlies do….

We already have the core pieces in place… Elite guard, and soon to be elite big…No more waisting picks on the Dylan Windler’s of the world later in the draft… Time to build a deep roster with players that will contribute to what should be a sooner than later eastern conference finals contender…

Looking forward to this selection actually…

Totally true. This is a very important draft because unless Levert shows a lot more than he ever has this team is still a piece away…

Players what go to the combine get measured without shoes and with shoes. Everyone else can say whatever they want.

Once a player gets into the league, the player's agents seem to have an effect on what teams report.

For example, Carlos Boozer & Kevin Love were measured as 6' 7.75" in the draft combine
But were frequently listed as 6'10" during parts of their careers because 6"10 guys get paid at PF, while 6'8" guys not so much.

Really though, the top of a player's head doesn't really indicate "how big" a guy a guy can be in the NBA. Wingspan, standing reach, leaping, and understanding positioning and leverage can be much more important.

If I was drafting a player I would make damn sure I knew their height, weight, and all relevant measurements first hand

Andre Iguodala in 2004 right before Luke Jackson, Bradley fucking Beal to DC right before Dion Waiters... Nobody slides to the Cavaliers when we need a slide.
