WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anybody watching Forbidden Door?

I’ve always been an FTR (Revival) fan, but they’re crazy over right now.

I watched it. Thought it was great.

Orange Cassidy gets overlooked for his actual in-ring ability. OC vs. Ospreay stole the show, IMO.

Sting has been nothing but a high flyer, and he wanted even crazier spots that AEW had to step in and say no. Steve Borden is living his best life considering how WWE treated him and basically made it out to be that he's retired for good.

I'm usually hard to entertain when it comes to wrasslin anymore since I'm a 90's avid fan and seen the absolute pinnacle, but last night's ppv was different and entertaining.

Cesaro making a debut also was cool. They need to stop signing ex wwe guys now and start writing great stories with the roster they have.

AEW is gonna be screwed in about 5 years when their 40 year old WWE guys are finished. They’re following the WCW playbook almost move for move.

Do you watch AEW? Only asking because I only hear this from people who don’t watch the product and just see the signings. Plenty of young talent that will be carrying the company for years to come…and most of them are way over. MJF, Starks, power house Hobbs, Hangman, Omega, Jungle Boy, Darby, Wardlow, Jade, Toni, Malakai, Yuta….I could go on and on.

If anything, it's WWE that's going to be screwed once their last two remaining big stars Orton and Cena (who himself is barely around any more) hang it up. Most of the Attitude Era guys are too old to bring back for in-ring action too, and they've been relying on cheap nostalgia pops from those guys for two decades now.

The only guy they've managed to make matter in the past decade is Roman Reigns, and it took them basically that entire ten years to finally make it work.

They're absolutely not screwed. In fact, their ability to not have to lean on one single guy is why they're going to be around forever. Fuck, Randy Orton gets injured and they literally have to crawl to Brock Lesnar. The WWE are the people in trouble because they're leaning so hard on Roman that literally every other title feels pointless. Whereas I feel like AEW has done a great job making so many people feel special. Also, their ability to make tag teams enjoyable. What they're doing with the Acclaimed and the Ass Boys... Hook and Danhausen. They're literally just having fun with it. And guess what, even when these guys are 40, they're all learning from guys like Jericho and Sting, who are able to revive their careers over and over again. AEW does what the WWE has forgotten... They can make NEW superstars. And they actually listen to crowd reactions for the most part. Except for Ruby Soho. Who I am adamant about not liking as a wrestler or character but they keep pushing constantly. Hell, look at how poorly the WWE used Tay Conti even on NXT, but the minute she got onto AEW she felt like a legit competitor.

And it took years of them being stubborn twats to even allow Roman to pull out a heel character. The fact that this piece of shit dinosaur who is under allegations of rape has literally been on every show since it came out shows how out of touch with the world he is. Dude isn't going away until he's dead.

Cody is probably the most over in the industry. They'll be fine with him going forward.

Cody and Roman. That's two people. They're shoving Austin Theory down people's throats. But there are guys like Ciampa, Gargano, Pete Dunn, ect who are so incredibly talented yet going to the main roster is a death sentence. They were great at organically building superstars in the Attitude Era but ever since the Cena era, they've relied so much on just having a few guys be at the top. And most of them are cut from similar cloth...

Roman might reach a certain status where he looks elsewhere, or becomes part time eventually, because what else is there to accomplish in the WWE world?

If they continue going with the same old, same old bloodline story, it's eventually going to get stale. Unless they find new ways to insert ideas and continue building it for say, the American Nightmare to crash it down.

I think that's what they need. A Cody/Roman feud. There does seem to be a bit of a turn on Roman, but I think it's because every single angle seems pretty much the same right now. I do love what Sami is doing right now with the Bloodline. He's such a great character/wrestler as well.

Roman is basically part-time right now.

They desperately need to build some new stars.

Cody is great, you can have Rollins up there any time, but there’s not much established after that.

They better not screw up this Riddle push.
