Mercado or Greg Allen? Who’s gonna be our main CF’er the rest of the season?
Whoever starts to earn it.

What's wrong with the tweet?
Fanning the fire? I'm not seeing that.A nameless/faceless social media manager fanning the fire on a team who beat us two nights in a row.

Isn't it accurate? The pot shot at the Mets? Syndergaard and others took notice, from looking at their own twitter accounts
What pot shot? I’m totally lost hereThe pot shot at the Mets? Syndergaard and others took notice, from looking at their own twitter accounts

I mean, right now, it would be more appropriate to call the Mets a non-playoff team. They're behind the NL wild card race.

Calling the Mets a fringe playoff team
Sure, but "fringe ____" certainly isn't a term of endearment in the sports lexicon. Fringe starter, fringe playoff team, fringe MVP candidate; in all cases it's an adjective used to describe something that isn't quite at the level to which it is being compared to. Being that the Indians are now on the outside looking in, they are a "fringe playoff team". I wouldn't expect players in the clubhouse would love being called that.
Clearly we disagree, so let's leave it at that.
you're a fringe good posterI don't see calling them a fringe playoff team as a slight at all.
If anything I see it as a compliment. The account was clearly trying to talk up our recent schedule by saying that we've been facing some very good teams, the Mets included.
