If it's a form which is treatable which it appears it is as he appears to be progressing well and says he'll be back at the end of July, I see this as good news. Maybe just cause I was already expecting the worst when I heard "blood disorder" and the way they were talking about treatment options but indications seem to be that he is doing quite well and leave me to be hopeful this trend continues. This is not to discount how really scary it has to be for everyone including obviously himself who already had an ablation heart procedure at a young age.

That Yan Gomes trade is looking really good right now.

Gomes so far this year is struggling with a -0.2 WAR, while handing over starting catching duties to Perez has been a great success (+1.9 WAR). In theory that's 2 extra wins just by replacing Gomes with Perez.

That is not to mention what could potentially turn out to be even more valuable - Daniel Johnson has made great strides this year and Rodriguez already looks like he can have what it takes to be a decent #5 guy. No clue if Monasterio will turn into anything but he's still only 22.
