Zydrunas Illgauskas...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Good guy, a Cavalier for a long time, but he might just be our Don Mattingly... A productive player, who was a fan favorite, but the team took off once he retired.. I've just never felt the Cavs would ever win a title with Z as a key contributer...

If there was a year to do it, this was it IMO...

Moot point, since Ben's 14 million expiring contract is much more attractive.

It is more attractive, but why not flip both in separate deals?

The Cavs have enough expiring deals to really shake up the roster and become more athletic, more talented and more dangerous. The Hornet's nearly gave Tyson Chandler away for garbage, what if they come a calling and want Zydrunas and his expiring in return, are you going to say the Cavs should pass on that?

Because flipping for the sake of flipping is flipping stupid.

Z is still very useful when we have the right supporting big. AV is a great third big, but this series convinced me that is all he is... as a starter, his energy is a foul magnet.

Nowhere did I say they should move him just for the sake of it, but if the RIGHT DEAL comes along and a team asks for Zydrunas in return it should be done. Getting sentimental over a player is silly, if they can improve and have to move him to do it they shouldn't hesitate.

There's really no reason to sugar coat things at this point. Z has been coming up small in the playoffs for a while now. He got absolutely humiliated by Howard all series and that is not acceptable. Boy, the tone sure changed around here quick. People were lining up before this series to bash Howard's post game. He goes out and looks like Hakeem Olajuwon on Z and now everybody is backtracking. Gasol and Bynum would have scorched him too had we made it that far.

We've reached the point where his offensive rebounding and pick and pop game can't even out his bad defense and shriveled up post game. He's a bench guy at this point and is very much available in a trade this summer as far as I'm concerned.

Z is a 7'3" shooting Guard. He doesn't play like a real Center at all, he doesn't use his length in the post and he can't rebound the ball consistently well. No wonder 6'8" LeBron James led the whole team in rebounding, that should've been Z. Getting a younger and fresher starting Center would put less pressure on LeBron James because he won't have to worry about leading this team in rebounding for the whole season.

So, when is it ok to admit that a certain player isn't what we need right now.

I respect the dude. All the surgeries, he's stuck with us through thick and thin.

But pool boy be gettin paid millions to play what I do for free at the Rec.

Boo hoo... Thanks for the years broham, but I want my center to be able to move and defend. Enough with the 20 foot j's that no one contests because you don't hit them when it matters.

If he really wants to do the Cavs a favor, he could opt out of his player option and take a pay-cut to give us cap-space.

I don't expect him too, and wouldn't ask him to though. That's a lot of money to give up,.

yeah because 8-10 boards a game is very point guard like.

dude gives everything he has and is a solid contributor when ask, what more do you want from him??

like i said previous he took on probably the biggest force at the center position any team has to offer and almost averaged a double double. If you cant see see the benefit in that then there is no helping you.

lebron games could average more points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, etc a game more than everyone else on the team if he wanted to, but he sees the value of a team and letting guys do what they do best. give a Z a break, there a are a lot of players that came up empty this series but Z tried his best and did pretty damn well what more do you want?

Is it cool if we trade him to a team looking for a center that doesn't really do what a center is supposed to do?

Or do we have to pay him the ultimate respect by letting him get meaningless points in the regular season and getting crushed in the playoffs, all because of his tenure?

I love the guy, but unless it's off the bench...no

Z off the bench is about as bad as it gets with me. I still want him on the team as long as he wants to be here.

However, we need a dominate, athletic, young big man. I am fully on board the Amare wagon.

Still waiting to hear the name of our starting center.

The silence if deafening amoungst the uneducated.

Before firing the bullet, think about the consequences.
