Over his last 6 games: 2-0, 0.72 ERA, 25 IP, 14 H, 5 BB, 32 K

His last 5 starts: 2-0, 0.00 ERA, 22 IP, 10 H, 5 BB, 28 K

Wow

I can't wait for him to be a full time big leaguer next year. Gonna be fun to watch

Who do you pull from the rotation right now to get him in there?

You almost have to at some point...

With the instability of the bullpen, would it make sense to use him in the fireman role that we've seen other top prospects play during their initial call up?

David Price, Alexi Ogando and Adam Wainwright all thrived in that role as their teams made playoff runs and we see Trevor Rosenthal doing it now for the Cardinals as well. With Salazar's pitch limit right now, it just makes sense to me.

Went to the Aeros game. Can Ronny Rodriguez play anywhere but up the middle? Seemed too good in the field today.

Also, Lindor almost lost a limb on a broken bat that flew at him while he went for a ball.

I really don't see a point in pulling anybody at this point.

I know Salazar is ready & has been on a tear himself, but the rotation has been the main reason we're still in this thing. No reason to fix something that isn't broken right now, IMO.

Tyler Naquin was hit by a pitch tonight and removed from the game, no word on his condition at this point.

Just throwing it out there.

Right now? I don't think you can pull somone from the rotation for a guy still on a 60-80 pitch count. I don't like the idea of using him strictly as a reliever up here, but I think that is the only way to use him here and still keep his innings in check. They have to take his past fragility into account here, seeing as he has only gotten as far as 100 innings in a season before this year.

Speaking of Naquin, he has to be the most under the radar of our top prospects. His strikeout rate is a little disappointing right now with 99 K's in 96 games, but he's shown some decent gap power this year and his SLG% has seen a pretty decent uptick compared to last year.

Took in the Mahoning Valley game tonight, got a good look at Dace Kime.

Very intriguing, one of the better curveballs you'll see at that level and looked to have decent control of it tonight. Mainly worked with his fastball through the first two innings allowing just an infield hit in his three innings.

After a dismal showing at Lake County this year, Nellie Rodriguez is absolutely crushing the ball at MV. He got ahead in the count 2-0 in his second at-bat and crushed a fastball about 450 feet out to left. Followed that with a smashed single and then an opposite field long single off the base of the wall. Very impressive, would like to see him get another turn in LC before the year is out.

Also in this game, Josh Tomlin tossed a scoreless inning in his second rehab outing after TJ surgery. Would love to have him around for depth next year, good to see him back on the hill.

I like Nellie, went to the same HS as Manny Ramirez IIRC

Good to see him tearing it up at Mahoning Valley. It's only Low A, but he's only 19, so it's not a big deal.

Does Salazar have experience as a relief pitcher?
