I think 90% of the time glasses would help him to see what he thought he saw allowing it to have been seen. :chuckles:

Anybody think we can land a 3rd for Rubin?

Also seen on twitter today that Miami is talking to oakland and us about moving up

Possible, it's a real weak draft so a lineman like Rubin would possibly net a 3rd or maybe even the 2nd we want if we include a 5th

Why would they trade him? Star Lotulelei...but Rubin wouldn't ever be dealt until Lotulelei is in the fold

I think that's the only way we would consider trading Rubin, is if Star Lotulelei is on the board for us. He very well could be too. As far as compensation for Rubin, a 3 seems high. Not because he won't be productive, but he has a rather large salary at 6 million per season. I'm not sure we'd get great value out of him because of his contract.

I can see the Browns auctioning the pick to Miami and Arizona and giving it to the highest bidder. Both teams are desperate for a LT and it looks like Lane Johnson will be the best on the board at 6, Fisher could as well but I doubt it. If we pass, Arizona most likely will take him. Therefore, Miami will be active to try to move up ahead of Arizona.

According to Walter Football's draft value chart: our pick is worth 1600 pts. Arizona at 7 is 1500 and Miami at 12 is 1250. In order to equal out a trade using the chart- it would be Arizona trading #7 and 4th rd (103) for #6. Miami has 2 2nd round picks so it would be #12 and #54 for #6. I'd take the Miami deal in a heart beat right now.

Question for guys more familiar with him: is this Nolan Nawrocki just a complete hack of a bitter old man that gets popularity by bashing QBs? I remember him from absolutely bashing Cam Newton and that blew up in his face, but now he says Geno Smith has horrible work ethic when all I've read/heard about him is that he's an absolute film junkie and a pretty intelligent guy to boot.

It is a bit unconventional considering our D-Line already seems set, but I wouldn't be upset with Star Lotulelei. He has the potential to be the best player in the draft. Rubin is a nice player, but he is not elite.

Star is great against the run and is also a capable pass rusher. If the comparisons to Haloti Ngata are accurate, then our D-Line would be fearsome.

Also, it appears that Star's medical report is clear and that his abnormal heart readings at the combine may have been an anomaly.

New tests show that Star Lotulelei’s heart is in normal range, with no evidence of dysfunction
After a dominant Mar. 20 performance at Utah's pro day, defensive lineman Star Lotulelei was able to confirm that his abnormal heart readings during medical tests at the scouting combine in February may have been an anomaly. And on Monday, Lya Wodraska of the Salt Lake Tribune reported that Lotulelei's further heart tests showed "no evidence of dysfunction," and his heart performed "consistently with that of highly trained athletes."

Tests performed during the combine indicated that Lotulelei's left ventricle was pumping at 44 percent efficiency compared with the normal range of 55 to 70 percent. A repeat of the echocardiogram shortly after the combine indicated that Lotulelei's heart was returning to normal range, and according to the Salt Lake Tribune report, a recent MRI showed that his heart was indeed in normal range with no long-term effects. Reports indicated that Lotulelei lost 10 pounds in a three-day period as he prepared for the combine, and dehydration can be a factor in such negative echocardiogram readings.

Lotulelei will attend and participate in the "combine re-check," a test in Indianapolis that re-assesses medical tests given at the February combine.

"There was no evidence of a dysfunction so we think it was transient in nature," Utah team physician Dave Petron told the Tribune of the more recent tests. "There was no reason why he couldn’t continue on in an athletic career."

Lotulelei did not work out at the combine after the low ventricular efficiency was detected, but he was more than impressive at his pro day. After he was cleared to work out by cardiologist Josef Stehlik , Lotulelei put up 38 reps on the 225-pound bench press, had a 30-inch vertical leap, ran the three-cone drill in 7.76 seconds, and the short shuttle in 4.65 seconds. Though his agent, Bruce Tollner, would have preferred that Lotulelei not run 40-yard dashes, he did, and ran 5.31 and 5.36 in two instances.

Lotulelei, who was thought to be a sure top-5 pick before the combine medical report, finished the 2012 season with 42 tackles, 5.0 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.

A team with a ton of holes trading decent players to create more holes they need to fill through the draft.

Smrt football.

Racists motherfucker.

J/k I dont know the guy but there seems to be on common denominator between the people he has criticized the most.

Not really worth my time to investigate but I'd say its safe to say this guy is not a fan of Black-athletic-out of pocket-QB's

Why in the world would we trade Rubin for a 3rd? Only way I move him is if someone blows us away with an offer. I'm talking a high first rounder. It won't happen, but that's the only scenario I'd trade consider to trade him. He's drastically underrated by many on here. The line really suffers when he's not in there.

One thing that trade game does is convince me we should trade down a bit to pick up a 2nd round pick.

I don't know much about Nawrocki other than the mentioned Cam Newton thing. The Geno Smith thing seems out of left field. Everything you hear about his character, work ethic, etc is positive and this guy comes in and bashes him. I'm curious how he rated RG3 last year.

If you watch PFW's youtube videos, they are very cheesey and poorly produced. This is Nawrocki talking about the top QBs in this draft class back in January. He mentions Nassib, Barkley, Glennon and EJ Manuel but leaves off Smith.

This is an article from Pro Football Talk- a good website. It's from last year about unnamed scouts blasting RG3. Could Nawrocki be one of the scouts?

This year, with the Redskins in the process of converting their penciled-in selection of Griffin to tattoo ink, Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel shares some negative views on Griffin, from multiple unnamed scouts.

“‘Everybody is just assuming because of the Heisman and the socks and all that bs. . . . they are ignoring a lot of bad tape that he’s had,’” one scout told McGinn. “‘I don’t think he has vision or pocket feel, which to me are the two most important components of quarterbacking. He’s just running around winging it. He’s [Michael] Vick, but not as good a thrower.’

“He has better arm action and is more accurate with his deep ball, but he’s not as good as Cam Newton,” another scout said. “As much as is written about his athleticism, his athleticism under duress in the pocket isn’t even close to Cam Newton’s. This guy, the only way he gets big plays with his feet is if he’s got a wide-open field and the sea opens for him. He’s got a little bit of a selfish streak, too. Everybody was laying on Cam, but for some reason this guy has become gloves off. He doesn’t treat anybody good.”

Another scout “questioned the way Griffin deals with people.”

Meanwhile, Nawrocki’s assessment of Griffin’s negatives focus only on on-field issues like height, experience in the one-look shotgun spread offense, his sidearm/three-quarters delivery, a tendency to vacate the pocket prematurely, and a delay in seeing and sensing pressure. There’s nothing about any failure to “treat anybody good” or selfishness.

Only thing the trade game convinced me was to stop wasting my time on trade games.
