2013 NFL Draft thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm a huge FSU fan (graduated in 2005). Really glad to see EJ move on from the program. Just never elevated to where he should have as a player with his gifts. I thought he only scratched the surface of what he should have become based on his tools. In the end he wa sjust soooo avearge and incapable of really getting FSU to where it should have been offensively.

It's tough to say how much Jimbo Fisher's ridiculous offensive system played in it, but EJ still missed a lot of throws, didn't use his legs enough, and I think really struggled to progress off of his first option. Granted, FSU runs the same 4 plays over and over with slight variations (I'm not joking, Jimbo thinks this is to our advantage) so again, maybe EJ just got caught up in awful coaching and player development.

If Cleveland were to take a QB I'd prefer Dysert to Manuel all day long.

Yup, pretty much exactly what I've read other Florida St. fans saying. Question is, are his problems fixable by coaching or is he just not wired properly to be a top QB in the league?

I don't think he's wired for it personally. He's never struck me as a guy who lives and dies by how the team is performing. He's a great kid, but I honestly don't believe wins and losses and his development as a QB were ever that important to him. There was just zero fire in him and it always looked like a guy just going through the motions. I think EJ will be a career back-up and that is probably exactly how he wants it. He'll stay out of trouble, be a good community guy, and tease fans with his ability but never amount to much. In fact, I'd say Jason Campbell is a pretty decent comparison for him...I'd rate Campbell as slightly better.

I'd trade down from #6 to grab 2 1sts or grab a later first, multiple 2nds, and a 3rd.

I want the best TE in Tyler and wouldn't mind EJ in the late first early 2nd.

You want something to kill time before April 25th?

It's a draft game that allows you to be the GM. Trades are nuts, guys fall that shouldn't, it's a fantastic time.

Enjoy!

Round 2 Pick 8 (TENN): Akeem Spence, DT, Illinois (B-)

I saw that simulator somewhere else and tried....

With the 1st pick, the Chiefs traded down to the 49ers, for their 1st rounder, KC's own 2nd rounder from the Smith trade, '14 1st & '15 1st....

Just so the 49ers could take Kenny Vaccaro 1st overall....

I quit right away and can't play that game with good faith, what a joke.

We don't need a guard in the 1st round. Let alone two. That crusade needs to stop.

I do like the website, though. If you can set aside the obvious flaws, it can be fun.

Some people want to go in there and try to tear it apart for fun. I think that is just dumb. The site clearly hinges upon maturity of its users.

This really needs to stop...

Two guards in the first round?

This should be a place for actual draft discussion.

Anybody think we can land a 3rd for Rubin?

Also seen on twitter today that Miami is talking to oakland and us about moving up

Anybody think we can land a 3rd for Rubin?

Why on earth would we trade a well above average defensive lineman who still has a lot of gas left in the tank for a pick in a round we probably wouldn't find a player as good in?

why the hell do people want to trade one of our starting defensive lineman? It's one of our strongest areas and you do not just go trading a player of significance for a 3rd rounder.
