So long, Kay Felder

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dude. My point was simple: we are going to have to do a full rebuild at some point.

The number of years it might take had nothing to do with that.

Go away.
If the number of years was irrelevant then why state your opinion on how long it will take leaving it up for debate?

After watching this guy in year two of summer league anyone calling Dan cheap is nuts.

He's paying what? $4 million in taxes to have this bum on our team? :chuckle:

If I was Kolby I'd try to just give Kay away to save the tax money.

Take a top 60 protected pick for him and call it a day.

Youre making an argument to develop a player without explaining why he shoild be developed.....

What has he shown that warrants putting him in NBA games? What's the skill(s) that look NBA quality, and worth developing?

He's a good athlete, Im told. But its the NBA, and unless you're extremely tall, being a good athlete is a pre-requisite. For a tiny player, its absolutely required to even be considered.

It is sometimes possible for a tiny player to make up for that with exceptional athleticism and particularly, lateral quickness. The problem is that the combine showed Felder isn't quite so exceptional there.

As we all know, he excelled in his vertical jumps, and he also did very well in straight-line quickness. He's fast. But his lateral agility pretty much sucked -- 11.52 seconds in the Lane Agility Test. That was the second-slowest time among all guards, not just point guards. By way of comparison, Brogdon did it in 10.77.

And the guy we all use as a point of comparison, Isaiah Thomas, did it in 10.59. Even Tristian Thompson did it in 10.92. Felder being nearly a full second slower than IT on the lateral agility test does not bode well on the defensive end.

And honestly, it looks accurate if you watch him play. Very good straight ahead speed, but he seems to lack that lateral quickness that would compensate for a very limited wingspan. I don't really see how he overcomes a lack of lateral quickness and a T-Rex wingspan.

How long before we cut bait with this guy? I'd rather have Brandon Paul on this team.
I couldn't agree more... There is literally no positive from having a player like him on the roster...

If he's gonna be a dominant force it means he's a ball dominant player.... Means he will kill an offense... Means he would have to be on the court for a bunch of minutes which would suggests immediate defensive liability....

I could not care if he blew up to be a Isaiah Thomas type of player... I personally would not want IT2 on the Cavs...

He is never going to be like IT because of two things.

1. The shooting. Isaiah was a much better shooter coming into the league.

2. Also, Isaiah's first step was really good. He could get some sort of separation that way. Kay doesn't quite have the first step like him. And that is something which will never improve either.

I was a big supporter of Kay when we first got him. I argued a fair amount with Keys and a few others sticking up for him.

That was before I watched him play for a season.

My forecast is this kid will be a never-was. I'd prefer to cut bait and roll with a promising summer leaguer.

what evidence do the Felder's have on the Gilbert's that he is not cut ?

Now that we have the real Peter Dinklage to play Tyrion Lannister; Warwick A. Davis can hit the bricks now. This is reminiscent of when we hoped and prayed that Anthony Bennett could be Kevin Love. Fuck it, let's just go get the authentic one.

I swear Dan Gilbert just likes to shove them down his ass or use them at the Casino.

GEEZUS !!!
Between this and Jeff Green.... You know what I'd hate to have Anthony Davis and Damian Lillard too.....:hsugh:
