I've seen posts about if we traded Love after we trade Kyrie we would lose alot of our 3 point shooting. If we are going to retool and get a new Big 3, I think Love's replacement is waiting out there for us. We could move Shump and Frye to help Houston get Melo and we can get Ryan Anderson back with possible an asset. It's not ideal but depending on who we net from trading Kyrie and Love, Anderson could be a nice piece to round off our rotation.

So you're suggesting we have a Big 3 PLUS TT and Ryan Anderson's toxic contract on top of it??? And what player are you suggesting can replace Love's production?

Um, I'll keep Frye thank you very much. And fuck helping Houston.

I don't think anyone is sure what we will get from a Kyrie deal let alone a Love deal. I was saying Anderson could replace Love as a stretch 4 shooter. It's not anywhere close to ideal especially with Anderson's contract number. The thing is that he is out there for the picking and we might be able to gain an asset in the process. If we were able to move Love for Cousins, Anderson makes more sense. I'm not sure what we do with TT, I feel like if we can move him, we should do it. TTs contract isn't going to look any better with time.

Love is not simply a "stretch 4 shooter" and diminishing as such ignores everything else he does for our team.

Gilbert isn't going that far over the cap for Ryan fucking Anderson. If we trade Love and don't mind a soft, non-rebounding, defense-averse player in his place we would just insert Frye there.

@NFiYX

Welcome to the boards, champ. Glad to have met you with an X mash and not a reply as to why you disagree.

Given the luxury tax situation our team is in, Shumpert and his contract would GLADLY be given away to a team for a conditional 2nd round pick or a 32 year old European player's rights. The front office would jump at that opportunity after signing Korver to an extension.

The problem is, teams willing to take Shumpert seem to want an asset coupled with him in return for shedding his salary--especially now that the summer of '16 spending spree has caught up and few teams have ample cap space.

Thus, if he opted out after this season and left "for nothing," that would not be a loss for the Cavs and Dan Gilbert given their tax situation. It would be a blessing.

To be honest Kyrie is what limited Love. I seen it so many times and more so when KI went hero ball. I am not saying this why Love failed to look good but with Kyrie breaking offense and plays and not even giving a shit on defense. It adds up and Love and LeBron are the better players in terms of IQ. Kyrie is just a volume shooter with a bit better handles than Steph. Steph plays better Defense and hits the three better, while Kyrie is a better ball handler and is a better slasher and mid ranger shooter. Losing Kyrie means Love will go off on nights like we never seen.

Also is it not ironic most wanted love gone when in reality and thanks Kyrie for everything. However his defense killed the Cavs and he was playing to much hero ball. Even in the play offs he knew he was trying to hard. Love is the man we need to keep and get defense minded people around, Get Bledsoe and we got Rose two PGs who play defense and can equal Kyrie in scoring alone. Love has to be thrilled with this, we might see the best Love ever looked this season.

I don't know about Kevin being happy that Kyrie is leaving. He's under contract in a way that a big numbers year isn't going to change much for him.

A lot of guys talk about only wanting to win championships. Most mean it only if it coincides with a bunch of other things they also want. Kevin clearly means it for real. He's sacrificed, made good on his promise to extend, never whined. He's been a consummate pro.

That said, barring some really excellent front office moves, Kyrie leaving likely lessens our championship chances, and if Lebron eventually goes, Kevin will be out of dodge.

He has no Ohio connections other than wanting to win. His life is westcoast-centric, and he'll probably move on without hesitation if we go into rebuild and trade him, so I think he would have probably preferred to have Kyrie stay and maximize the chances of winning another ring. He wanted out of Minnesota, and quite frankly, they were a better coached and ran organization than we are his last season there. Not during the Kahn era as he was inept. He's here for Lebron and rings.

I'll be interested to see how he performs as a second option rather than a third also, but if we don't add just the right mix of players, it's just going to be one last swan song for him in Cleveland. If things at all go south during the regular season, maybe sooner.

No, he's pretty much in the same situation as last year. IT isn't much of a passer.

I could actually see a situation that when healthy, IT becomes our spark from the bench and Rose or Wade remain the starter.

Kevin needs to stay healthy and mobile. I'm fine with him playing mediocre defense throughout the season as long as he can pick it up when it matters most: the postseason, which, if I remember correctly, he did pretty well this past year. We need some 3 point shooters whose percentages aren't going to magically tank during the finals like we had this past finals. This will give Kevin room to operate and the ability to pass out and get us effective points. Kevin needs to work on his mobility and ability to switch when need be so that he can fit more into today's game, which is positionless basketball. He's an elite player in the late 2000s/early teens, but we need him to take a page from Draymond Green and learn how to be effective everywhere.

Also, an 87 on 2k is bullshit. You heard it here first.

Detlef Schrempf is 87.

I just hope Love being the 2nd option means he gets to have the ball in his hands more as a playmaker from the post/high post. I don't want him to be our 2nd option and still being regulated to a floor spacer.
