That LeBron/Love duo is going to be lethal next year. We all thought Kevin was the odd one out but what if that was really Kyrie and this is what they needed to get the chemistry flowing.

Love at the 5 is a disaster. He was decent against draymond but he gets killed by larger guys.

Actually, Love at the 5 worked out really well for the Cavs, especially in the playoffs when it was our go to lineup. I'm expecting a lot of Love at center this year. It was a wash in the regular season but then again, most things were were in the regular season before they started playing for real in the playoffs.

Playoffs with Love at the 5

114 minutes, 230 possessions, Cavs' ORtg 123.2 Cavs' DRtg 100.1, NET +23.1 per 100 possessions.

Love at the 5 killed in the playoffs

Playoffs with Love at the 5 sans the Finals

44 minutes, 89 possessions, Cavs' ORtg 156.2 Cavs' DRtg 102.2, NET +54 per 100 possessions.

Finals with Love at the 5

70 minutes, 141 possessions, Cavs' ORtg 102.3 Cavs' DRtg 98.7, NET +3.6 per 100 possessions. We defended the Warriors better in those 70 minutes than in any other stretch.

Love at 5 or on Iggy against the Warriors would work well if we get a good defensive PG and a good defensive wing to slow down KD a bit. That also allows LeBron to play defense-safety, where he is at his best and more importantly we are at our best. Our issue against the Warriors in the NBA Finals was we had rubbish perimeter defense and poor rim-protection. You can work with one of them being poor, but the other one has to be good!

That rumoured Bledsoe + PG13 trade would have been perfect but now its a pipe dream.

But even now, a Bledsoe + Josh Jackson or Brogdon + Middleton can work out really well.

We have to run a lot more LeBron - Love PnRs and PnPs.

Love also has to improve his core strength and ensure he is able to establish a good post position when KD or Klay etc are guarding him. Love still has a lot of scope for improvement, especially on the offensive end.

We've been waiting 3 years for love to add significant strength. He looked ok in the beginning of the year last year but seemed like he lost most of it after his food poisoning. I really hope he's going hard in the weight room this offseason.

Id run the Pick N rolls through Tristan. he is much more effective as a roll man than Love.

Love can be used as a weak side outlet or three point outlet.

Tristan should be getting the ball 4 or 5 possessions a game out of the Roll. Lebron and Rose could improve their efficiency establishing TT as a threat as a roll man.

Cavs were very good at Off Screens . they could also run more of those on the offensive end.

Defensively is Thompson and Love need to work together especially communication wise.

Delly and TT had a great PnR thing going.

I know this is the running joke here but he's played 212 regular season games with the Cavs after shedding some of that extra weight. The only time he's missed with the Cavs was when the team opted for a proactive surgery to clean out his knee. The previous 3 years in Minnesota he played in 150.

It could be his body, while more effective with additional weight, is also prone to break down with those added LB's. Even if he's a little less effective scoring in the post, I'd prefer him to just be on the floor and provide gravity.
