I really think Kyrie and LeBron can be similar to Parker and Duncan over the next few years. For a long time Duncan was the leader of the Spurs but as he has aged Parker has kind of taken that role. (on the court anyways not necessarily verbally) Like Duncan, LeBron will always be a star and key piece until the end of his career just because he is so damn skilled. However at some point, as LeBron ages, I see Kyrie eventually surpassing LeBron as the best player on the team and letting LeBron be the 2nd option. Kyrie showed last year that he was not quite ready to be the go to guy on a winning team but I think he is getting there and he still has some years of learning from LeBron until he will need to again.

Oh... and Love can be Ginobili in PF form I guess ;)

He has been most consistent b/c his role has reduced and the ball is in a better play maker hands giving him the option to focus in more on his role and overall basketball game. He doesn't have to worry about doing anything other than defending and scoring so far.

I don't quite agree, although he's doing less, I think Kyrie is still making great plays for others out there too.

Sure, he'll never be Chris Paul in that aspect, but his entire game has improved. The guy is still averaging 5 assists a game, playing default point guard with LeBron.

He is a lot of fun to watch. Also, he is really flying under the radar thus far. Very few point guards are playing better basketball than him. The one guy off hand I can say without a doubt is steph curry; after that it becomes dicey. Team USA did wonders for him.

Call me "out of my freaking mind" kinda crazy, but I've been feeling for some time now, that I have more trust with the ball in Kyrie Irving's hands than LeBron James'. And I know that that sounds so incredibly dumb and ridiculous, but based on what I've seen them both do this season, I can't help but feel much calmer inside when I know Kyrie is about to head to the hoop.

I don't want to put them in a one-on-one comparison, but given a number of silly fadeaway 3-point attempts, struggles at the contested rim and LeIso fails that we've seen this season versus Irving's sharp attention on defense, ball movement and seemingly guaranteed ability to get to the hoop at will even if you played 5 Anthony Davis' in front of him, my confidence is really growing in Irving as the 'go-to' man in bail-out play and clutch situations.

After 16 games, I would agree, especially given Irving's bett FT% although he's missed some these last few games.

HOWEVER, it's only 16 games and I expect James to be himself sooner or later and then things will look different.

Part of it has to be Lebron's inexplicable loss of dribbling skill this year. He's been very lax with the ball for some reason. The other part is Kyrie might be a top 5 ballhandler in NBA history. How he can maintain a dribble while getting harrassed is beyond me.

So far this season Kyrie is leading the team in plus/minus at +87. Last year he finished at -219, just ahead of Jack (-241) for the worst mark on the team.
-219? God Damn :chuckle:

Kyrie is just a flat out stud. The sign that he is a true star is the night in, night out consistency on both sides of the floor. He has probably been our best overall player when you factor in the entire season.

What's amazing is he can just turn on his offense at will. He is just crazy good.
