Kyrie's a stud. Nothing else to say really. Lol at the RealGmers who constantly call Kyrie a selfish chucker.

Over 60 percent TS percentage...

Windhorst was on First Take today saying that he still doesn't know if LeBron and Kyrie's "marriage" (seriously FUCK relationship comparisons in basketball/LeBron) can work long term. He alluded that somehow he thinks Kyrie isn't the happiest deferring to LeBron as the primary ball handler and facilitator and thinks that Kyrie goes back to selfish Kyrie the second LeBron checks out of the game.

I mean, how can Windy be defended so consistently when he plants seeds like that one? LeBron and Kyrie aren't going to play together long term? That means LeBron retired, IMO :chuckle:

Kyrie post game:

"I trust my teammates 100% and whatever's needed to do game to game - whether that's taking 0 shots or taking 100 shots - I'm going to do."

"We don't have selfish teammates on this ball club. You know, whoever shoots it we're okay with it because we trust you with the basketball and we trust that, you know, when you score, we all score. And that's all that matters to me."

I could've added a million other quotes in here (as he didn't miss a beat in this interview) but with each media address, he continues to reinforce his maturation. Kyrie's attitude and his ability to translate this on to the floor is become an ever so obvious correlation now. Very, very impressive.

Call me "out of my freaking mind" kinda crazy, but I've been feeling for some time now, that I have more trust with the ball in Kyrie Irving's hands than LeBron James'. And I know that that sounds so incredibly dumb and ridiculous, but based on what I've seen them both do this season, I can't help but feel much calmer inside when I know Kyrie is about to head to the hoop.

I don't want to put them in a one-on-one comparison, but given a number of silly fadeaway 3-point attempts, struggles at the contested rim and LeIso fails that we've seen this season versus Irving's sharp attention on defense, ball movement and seemingly guaranteed ability to get to the hoop at will even if you played 5 Anthony Davis' in front of him, my confidence is really growing in Irving as the 'go-to' man in bail-out play and clutch situations.
Kyrie is my favorite player since McGrady and Lebron is just another guy that I am happy to have on my team ever since he left. That said, there is no better player in the NBA to handle the ball than Lebron and it isn't close. Outside of his incredible passing, he is a one man defense collapser, which, when he passes to Kyrie, gives him the ability to drive on a mismatch or a guy on his heels.

Everyone seemed to talk about the Lebron/Love combo potential, but I see Lebron/Kyrie to have the higher ceiling. On strictly scoring, Kyrie is going to be a better version of Wade. And the reason for that is because of the effect of Lebron having the ball in his hands. It's symbiotic.

Kyrie should always go back to selfish Kyrie whenever James checks out. When he is out there running with the 2nd team, he is all we have at the moment.

The chemistry thing was overblown at the start of the season and i am annoyed it is still being brought up as a talking point. The Big Three are meshing quicker then i had even anticipated. Making LBJ play more of a point-forward role has paid dividends.

I've praised him already, but the defensive intensity hasn't dropped off. He may not be a great defender, but he's giving way more effort on that end than ever before. I was in the "trade everyone and start over" camp, but then LeBron came back and saved the roster and it has helped Kyrie more than anyone.

What an absolutely stupid thing for Windy to even bring up.

I'm growing tiresome of the parade float, known as Windy. He's full of wind.

There's one thing to do your job, there's another to just speculate in the hope of bringing up drama, when its not even there.

Kyrie goes back to selfish Kyrie, WTF games does he watch.

Chemistry wise, I think Kyrie and LeBron have clicked faster than even Love and LeBron. I never saw that coming.

I've never seen Kyrie look so loose, and happy on the floor.

Windy is just looking to stir shit up, or they're putting something else on those white powder doughnuts.

Kyrie must absolutely despise Windy :chuckle:

I would too.

Kyrie just keep doing you...Cavs fans across the country are so impressed and for good reason...good lord

What's lost in all this Kyrie versus Lebron talk is the position switch that has occurred. Lebron is clearly now the de facto PG for this team and that has definitely freed up Kyrie both on offense and defense. He's not a selfish player but Irving is definitely a scorer first and playmaker second: with Lebron now at PG he can concentrate at what he does best which is create shots (his offensive skill level for scoring has always been MVP caliber and he can let it loose). Second less PG duties means more energy for him to expend on defense.

Now Lebron has to get better at protecting the ball and getting rid of those stupid unforced TO's he's been producing but otherwise that move has made a huge difference for the team and Kyrie so far.

I get the impression they don't like each other. Windy was the one that reported Kyrie wanting to be traded, and hating Dion. Maybe that was true, maybe that wasn't.

Kyrie was pretty vocal about it, and had some harsh words too.

Then Windy remember also reported during the all-star break that LeBron and Kyrie have no interest in playing with one another. I thought that was an odd thing to report, to be honest.

It seems anytime Windy has anything to report about Kyrie, it's not exactly good. Heck, that ankle thing, Windy made it out to be a really, really big deal, when it was seriously nothing.

I'm not saying Windy is going out of his way to make Kyrie look bad, but that he personally isn't going to give him the benefit of the doubt, ever, when it comes to things he's going to report too.

It's obvious Windy isn't the biggest fan of Kyrie's, for whatever reason.

I don't necessarily agree with the talk that Kyrie is thriving by playing shooting guard on offense. I think he's handling the ball a ton in his own right. His decision making is much better because he has shown a higher trust in all of his teammates than ever (I'm even including giving it up to Tristan, Dion etc.). Kyrie also has much more space to work with, and teams can't afford to camp a big man in the paint to contest his drives to the rim.

Kyrie Irving is on his way to becoming a top 5 player in the entire league.

Kyrie's scoring ability looks like it was there since birth. Realistically what shot can't this guy hit?

I think what a lot of people are forgetting is that Kyrie's left hand is equally adept at finishing, it's arguably his stronger finishing hand but we haven't seen a whole lot of it lately.

He was hanging in mid-air like MJ on that scoop across the lane.

With Bron as his teammate, he's on a fast track towards reaching his fullest potential.

How can Windhorst even say that shit? Do you not see the embrace? LeBron is constantly smacking Kyrie's head and dapping him up. C'Mon now.

Kyrie is a combo guard.
