He has been most consistent b/c his role has reduced and the ball is in a better play maker hands giving him the option to focus in more on his role and overall basketball game. He doesn't have to worry about doing anything other than defending and scoring so far.
Proud to say I was never in that absurd "trade Kyrie" camp.I remember, once upon a time, some posters wanted us to trade Kyrie, and build around Dion Waiters.
How would that be going right about now?
Call me "out of my freaking mind" kinda crazy, but I've been feeling for some time now, that I have more trust with the ball in Kyrie Irving's hands than LeBron James'. And I know that that sounds so incredibly dumb and ridiculous, but based on what I've seen them both do this season, I can't help but feel much calmer inside when I know Kyrie is about to head to the hoop.
I don't want to put them in a one-on-one comparison, but given a number of silly fadeaway 3-point attempts, struggles at the contested rim and LeIso fails that we've seen this season versus Irving's sharp attention on defense, ball movement and seemingly guaranteed ability to get to the hoop at will even if you played 5 Anthony Davis' in front of him, my confidence is really growing in Irving as the 'go-to' man in bail-out play and clutch situations.

-219? God DamnSo far this season Kyrie is leading the team in plus/minus at +87. Last year he finished at -219, just ahead of Jack (-241) for the worst mark on the team.
I really think Kyrie and LeBron can be similar to Parker and Duncan over the next few years. For a long time Duncan was the leader of the Spurs but as he has aged Parker has kind of taken that role. (on the court anyways not necessarily verbally) Like Duncan, LeBron will always be a star and key piece until the end of his career just because he is so damn skilled. However at some point, as LeBron ages, I see Kyrie eventually surpassing LeBron as the best player on the team and letting LeBron be the 2nd option. Kyrie showed last year that he was not quite ready to be the go to guy on a winning team but I think he is getting there and he still has some years of learning from LeBron until he will need to again.
Oh... and Love can be Ginobili in PF form I guess
