Peyton Hillis is Jason Bourne

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Peyton Hillis

Well cool if that's the way that the Brown's front office thinks then fuck them.

They get a guy that can turn the franchise around and then they dick with him because of money matters.

Nice. Go Pittsburgh.

Go Pittsburgh? Disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself.

The truth of the matter is Hillis can very well be a one hit wonder, especially if you consider his fumbling and his running style which is incredibly prone to injury. He's got a nice skillset, but if you think he's anywhere near the level of a Peterson, Johnson (he will get back to usual production), Foster, or Rice, then you're sadly mistaken. Turn the franchise around? Wow...the only position on the field that can be said to "turn a franchise around" by himself is a QB. Is it really unfair of the Browns to want to see Hillis put together back to back seasons of last year's production before cashing in on him?

Re: Peyton Hillis

Just saw that Hillis supposedly feels "unappreciated" on ESPN.

Not. Good.

Re: Peyton Hillis

Peyton Hillis' agent advised his client not to play through strep throat in the Week 3 win over the Chiefs. Hillis' agent isn't doing the running back any favors here. He essentially admitted that the decision to sit was left up to the player and not made by the medical staff. He also conceded that Hillis feels underappreciated by the lack of a new contract.

This is what ESPN is saying about it.

Pay that man.

Re: Peyton Hillis

I say give Hillis his money. Not top rb money, but solid money. If he ends up getting injured or under performing you can cut him. This is the NFL not NBA. He is popular and will make the money back in ticket sales. I see his limitations, but at this point we have plenty of cap room to spend and rather see it go towards him at this point.

Yeah, I agree with that completely. Low ball him a few more days to get him to come down some more, but get the deal done before the next game so he can get back to hurdling people and crackin heads. If it blows up, they can always cut bait and run.

Re: Peyton Hillis

The Cleveland Plain-Dealer's Tony Grossi believes Peyton Hillis will request a trade ahead of the October 18 deadline.

Grossi says contract talks between the Browns and Hillis are "not going well," and that a trade request is likely the "next step." With the Browns having so few weapons on offense, it would be unwise to move their feature runner, though it's become clear they have little interest in inking him to a lucrative long-term extension. With Montario Hardesty available as somebody who could immediately step into the starting lineup were Hillis to be dealt, it's possible the Browns will at least entertain trading their disgruntled bell-cow back. This is not a story near its resolution.

Uh-oh... Is Grossi generally reliable or is this just making a headline??

Grossi is a fucking tool, but I have to believe there is at least a little truth to this. Hopefully it doesn't come to this.

Cleveland, where even the Madden Curse hits 20 times harder than any other sports town.

Re: Peyton Hillis

What do you think we could get for Hillis in a trade?

A 2nd or 3rd rounder. Someone will be willing to pay for what he's shown in his one season of production.
