Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Let's stack more pitchers. Who needs hitters?

Nobody had heard of Kaminsky until today and now everyone's apeing the media calling it "highway robbery" and "A great bargain."

From an MLB standpoint, it entertains the shit out of me when people pretend to know anything about minor league prospects before they lycos'd or askjeeves'd them.

Speak for yourself...some people follow the minors more than they do MLB...

Cespedes...who will get him?

Cleveland! Why not?

Yup just found this out. I thought he had two years on a contract for some reason. I wouldn't give nothing for him knowing that now.

We are off contract with Moss @$6.5m now, will be off with Swisher and Bourn for $28.5m after the next two years.

Why not add and pay a game changer a good chunk of that amount per year on a real long term contract. We have otherwise a great pipeline, just not a true power hitter.

And if not Cespedes, who can we get before the deadline?

Not worth th risk of him leaving and unless he says he will stay at a reasonable price and we know that won't happen. By the MLB standards he is overrated on our team he would help but won't be worth his asking dollars I assume. Unless they just give him away to us as a rental I do not see it. I wanted Ozuna but I think the Indians are done in trades unless tonights win makes them think they can still be in this and sparks a move.

I don't think Yoenis is overrated to be honest.

Having a great year offensively, although he still doesn't draw a lot of walks. Great arm in the outfield.

I'm just not interested in giving up young talent for a rental when we're seven games under .500 in late July.

Now Yasiel Puig on the other hand... he is extraordinarily overrated.

The future will be coming together, no need to give some of it away to get Cespedes. Make a few more low key deals for some youngins and have a bounce back year next season. Naquin should battle for a spot come camp, Zimmer may start in AAA and be a June call up if he's swinging the bat.

I hope Bourn can tear some shit up so we can deal him via waivers. Players do get hurt, teams become desperate, a hot Bourn can become intriguing.

If the Dolans add significant help in needed areas then I can get excited again.

Swisher will be the only dead weight come next season.

I'd rather have Puig than Cespedes by a large margin. Cespedes is a below average outfielder, with below average plate discipline, is about to turn 30, and is looking for a big contract. At least Puig has had stretches of being an elite hitter during his young career.

Oh, I'd rather have Puig too simply because of the age difference. Puig is good, but he's having a below average, injury plagued season following a very good rookie year.

He's got the potential for sure.
