When I was growing up, my teachers used to describe me as "gifted," and I used to be assigned to summer enrichment programs.

Well...it was either gifted or "special." And on second though...maybe it was "remedial programs," and not "enrichment programs."

Whatever...English was never my strong suit and synonyms are a bunch of horse-shit. Speaking of which, I'm working on a new preview for tomorrow morning.

Boobie, when it comes to baseball, I'd say we agree about 90-95% of the time. I respect and value your opinion on most fronts when it comes to mlb related things. But you can stop with the hollier than thou schtick. Just because most fans aren't Andrew Friedman, Walt Jockerty or Brian Sabean doesn't mean you should act like you are.

I am a fan of bringing in Ryan Doumit as long as it is an incentive laden contract.
 
I love Jigo's poop posts because he is obviously trying to be funny. And he adds good posts in between that show he is paying attention, just trying to add some humor. I'll agree with him that baseball forums are normally way less fun than most other sports.

But it is annoying when fans bitch and moan about every move - and then when presented with facts they say that everyone else is an 'apologist' and that they were just saying those things 'to rile people up because it is funny.'

Jigo is funny - trolling fans of your own team on a message board you spent a significant portion of your day reading isn't.

I heard someone (TonyIPI?) saying that the Lowe trade may have just been insurance so they could use someone like Carmona (or one of the AAA guys) in a deal. If a Carmona package nets us a decent bat, the Lowe trade makes even more sense.
 
Does anyone know if Brantley is fast enough to play CF? I know when my brother was being recruited for college, the scouts used several different metrics to measure whether he was fast enough to play CF or if he'd be relegated to a corner OF position. Any insight?
 
I wonder if Tampa would do a carmona/ aaa pitcher for bj upton swap
