2012 NFL Draft Day 2 Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Number one, melting down is not the same thing as being pissed off about a guy who you've seen play and don't want.

Secondly, you can't tell me one thing you don't like about the guy other than the fact he wasn't plugged by Mel Kiper.

I know who Brandon Weeden is, you learned this guys name half an hour ago.

Consensus late round pick. Its hard to get every analyst to agree on something, but every one of them has this guy as 6th round tops. Heckert sounded like a moron saying he hoped he wouldn't get picked before 87.

It's not that we took him, it's where we took him. Heckert just said we got a good rotatioal player. With all the holes this team has a rotational dt in the third is not a great selection. Especially when said selection is graded as a 6th to 7th round pick and possibly an undrafted free agent.

Graded by whom?

Hairpiece Kiper and a former backup QB from Richmond University (McShay)?

Neither of them work in the NFL. They work for an outlet who has no affiliation, and both are known to accept gifts from agents to push certain players.

Their board, and the boards of NFL teams....are different. All of them.

These guys had almost every pick wrong, every single one...They're not intelligent enough to grade out mid-round prospects.

Don't know a thing about Hughes, but I'm not going to pretend to be upset about a guy I know nothing about.

I'm not upset with our picks but confused like everyone else with the Hughes pick, but with picks like him, what does that say about our 2 6ths and 7ths?

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter late Friday that the Browns will likely be trading Colt McCoy "soon."
"The Browns are opening to listening to offers," Schefter stated. "... Colt McCoy (is) soon to be headed out of town." The market isn't rich for a backup-at-best caliber quarterback who can function only in a West Coast offense, but the Browns' hands may be tied. They drafted a superior prospect in Brandon Weeden, and McCoy is believed to be unhappy with management. He already earned the ire of Cleveland's front office when his father, Brad, called out Mike Holmgren for the Browns' handling of Colt's 2011 concussion.

Funny how things end up.

Rutgers WR Mohamed Sanu was the victim of a prank call on the first day of the draft claiming he was drafted by the Bengals.
Agent Mike McCartney took the call, which said Cincinnati selected Sanu at No. 27. McCartney went so far as to post the "news" on Twitter, before the pick was announced as Wisconsin OG Kevin Zeitler. "It was some kid from Rutgers who said his friend got his phone and played a practical joke. He was apologetic," McCartney explained. Sanu is a projected late second- or third-rounder.

Then he gets drafted by CIN.

What a dick move by the person who pranked him. I mean this is his dream and someone would just be an asshole like that? Good to see the guy get drafted.

So when are we going to get a receiver?

My guess would be the fourth.

Marvin Jones - Cal
Chris Givens - Wake Forest
Tommy Streeter - Miami

None of these guys are going to make a big impact though. Sorry we won't have an all rookie/second year starting lineup. Apparently that will disappoint some.

Chris Givens
Marvin Jones
Marvin McNutt
Jarius Wright
Joe Adams
Tommy Streeter
Dwight Jones

All options.

Joe Adams would be a great pick IMO.

Have a feeling Givens would have been a mid 2nd rounder if he didn't tear both ACL's in high school

I'm not expecting any of them to start. I just wanted a receiver at the top of the 2nd, but I'm not upset with a RT. But still, the WR core is still awful.

People are sleeping on Greg Little, which is good...I hope the rest of the NFL is too.

He apparently had one of the worst starting QBs in the league, and put up more than respectable rookie numbers.

Adding a rookie to the WR core isn't going to add as much as people think it would, as much as I liked Reuben Randle...The WR core would still be awful with him in it.

Two-three years from now, maybe not so much...

Gotta think the coaching staff felt the QB was holding us back and not the WR's. As mentioned above, still some decent prospects out there. But there are some good LB's out there, too. Nigel Bradham, Terrell Manning come to mind.

Also, I guess we like Burfict. late 5th? I'd go for it. Too much talent
