2012 NFL Draft Day 2 Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2012/04/texans-could-trade-jacoby-jones/

I stumbled upon this column regarding Jacoby Jones' sudden availability after the Texans drafted DeVier Posey in the third round. The writer claims that there's a report the Texans are talking to the Browns about swapping Jones for McCoy. I have to admit though, that I'm not terribly familiar with Jones other than the fact that he's a punt/kick returner.

He has had an extremely disappointing career. He has had numerous chances to excel, but he is always hampered by drops. Its embarrassing.

Regarding Mr. Hughes:

Hughes has numerous issues in his play that, if not fixed early, could severely limit his pro prospects. He seems lazy at times and rarely chases plays down on the perimeter. As a run defender, he is capable of getting through blocks but often looks shell-shocked once he gets in the backfield. He needs to finish with more force; at times Hughes would be neutralized by offensive linemen because of his poor effort and pad placement.

Where did you get this? Perhaps maybe when he was a rotation player two years ago. But not last year. Cincinnati's biggest weapon is our conditioning.

Every player chases down plays. After the play is over everybody runs back to the huddle or sideline. At the end of each quarter everyone runs to the opposite side of the field. It's a mental game that actually works. I remember one time Mclung (one of our receivers) got lit up as he made the catch. The defender went to get up, taunt and shove Mclung, but Mclung was already halfway to the huddle. The look on the defenders face was priceless. It's like in Rocky, when he gets hit and he just keeps coming.

But I will tell you this, if the player is a starter on the Bearcats, then I can guarantee you they are pretty well conditioned and play till the whistle.

Note: I am not trying to talk up UC, or talk up this guy here. But I am familiar with him, so I'm telling you what I have seen with my own two eyes. Make your own opinions from there.
