2012 NFL Draft Day 2 Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here's the hoping that we ship McCoy and a 5th for James Jones.

Regarding Mr. Hughes:

Hughes has numerous issues in his play that, if not fixed early, could severely limit his pro prospects. He seems lazy at times and rarely chases plays down on the perimeter. As a run defender, he is capable of getting through blocks but often looks shell-shocked once he gets in the backfield. He needs to finish with more force; at times Hughes would be neutralized by offensive linemen because of his poor effort and pad placement.

People are sleeping on Greg Little, which is good...I hope the rest of the NFL is too.

He apparently had one of the worst starting QBs in the league, and put up more than respectable rookie numbers.

Adding a rookie to the WR core isn't going to add as much as people think it would, as much as I liked Reuben Randle...The WR core would still be awful with him in it.

Two-three years from now, maybe not so much...

I'm a huge Little fan. He put up numbers comparable to A.J. Green with Colt fucking McCoy throwing him the ball. Sure he had issues with drops and route running, but he's been a receiver for like 2 years. He's just oozing with potential.

Also I'd love to throw a late pick at Burfict. The guy has pro-bowl talent he's just a head case. We have a pretty stable locker room. If it gets to the point where he's just not worth dealing with anymore, cut ties and move on. But if you can get him in line, he could be a stud linebacker on this team that desperately needs one.

Greg Little is the least of our worries. When he starts getting doubled, who's going to be the other guy? I'm hoping Cribbs has a breakout year as a WR. He had flashes at times last year, even with Colt overthrowing/underthrowing his streak routes.

I like Greg Litttle but what are you talking about:

Greg Little: 16 games, 61 catches, 709 yards, 2 tds

AJ Green: 15 games, 65 catches, 1057 yards, 7 tds

I like McNutt, but really we have to go OLB/S tomorrow, and not WR.

Remember that Colt was throwing to him, I give Little the benefit of the doubt.

Not really. AJ Green and Greg Little are not even close to being the same caliber player.

Jesus Christ, now I remember why I had you on ignore. I didn't say they were the same caliber player. One was a top 5 receiver the other is a converted RB taken in the second round.

AJ Green had longer average and more yards, but their receptions were almost identical. In fact, for most of the season Little was actually leading all rookies in receptions. Now Andy Dalton doesn't have a rocket arm, but compared to Colt's it looks like freaking Osweiler's. There were multiple occasions that Little got open where Colt either didn't recognize the separation or he just completely botched the throw. I was watching Little like a hawk because I was excited about getting him, the kid gets separation and an astounding rate.

Green is elite. Little is a role player.

Cmon people

The Texans could trade receiver Jacoby Jones on the last day of the draft.

If they get a deal they like, they’re expected to pull the trigger, but they’re not going to give away Jones, who is the most criticized player on the team when it comes to the fans. Since he muffed the punt in the playoff loss at Baltimore, Jones has become public enemy No. 1 to the fans.

One report said the Texans were trying to trade Jones to Cleveland for quarterback Colt McCoy. A deal like that would make sense. The Browns need more offensive weapons for first-round pick Brandon Weeden. They selected running back Trent Richardson in the first round, and now they need to bolster their receivers.

When Jones signed his last contract with the Texans, he turned down more money from Washington to remain in Houston. But the time might be right for him to get a new start.

The Texans used a third-round pick on Ohio State receiver DeVier Posey. They’re expected to draft another receiver on the last day of the draft, perhaps with one of three picks in the fourth round.

General manager Rick Smith isn’t shy about trading for picks. Could he possibily get a fourth-round pick for Jones?

We’ll find out Saturday when the last day of the draft concludes with the fourth through seventh rounds. The Texans have three picks in the fourth round and one in the fifth and sixth rounds.

I stumbled upon this column regarding Jacoby Jones' sudden availability after the Texans drafted DeVier Posey in the third round. The writer claims that there's a report the Texans are talking to the Browns about swapping Jones for McCoy. I have to admit though, that I'm not terribly familiar with Jones other than the fact that he's a punt/kick returner.

So they were close in receptions, but in nothing else and that makes their stats comparable? I like Little too, but that is going overboard.
