2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Last year's Mavericks, Joe Dumars, and Wade all disagree. I realize that is a small sample size, but I do not think it is smart to write Beal off simply due to his size.

I can somewhat see the Dumars comparison but Beal is not nearly as explosive as Wade.

Dirk and Chandler were bigger reasons the Mavs won moreso than Terry.

After Davis I agree the Cavs board very possibly looks something like this:
1) MKG
2) Barnes (yuk-dude is bland both on and off the court)
3) T Robinson (this is where the TT pick comes back to bite us)

I was personally hoping for a MKG/Andrew Nicholson first round but that is looking bleak unless Grant can pull something off. TRob/Wroten would be a nice consolation prize but not sure the Cavs are too high on Wroten.

Trade 4th to Sacramento for 5th and the removal of their protection on their first that we own! Let them take the risk on Drummond.

Uh, if they took the protection off we'd get the 5th pick anyways.

:chuckles: For future drafts.

Either way, I don't see why Sacramento would do this..they have a center with issues in his head already.

Beal is behind MKG but ahead of everyone else. They like him and all the weapons he brings to the table.

Ah, gotchya. I thought he was saying we'd get two first rounders.

Lots of talk already about a potential Bobcats/Cavs trade.

#2 for #4, #24, and (maybe) #32.

Good stuff.

Meh. I like the way the draft is shaping up and would much rather sit tight at #4.
Is this the Rams-Browns-RG3, part 2??

Anyways, this is mainly just talk amongst fans, but nothing really legit.

There's also lots of people that think Portland (#6) and Goldenstate (#7) are ready to trade picks for vets.

If either Drummond or Robinson are taken at either 2 or 3, then that would be one of the dumbest trades in Cavs history.

Nice that people are talking, but I think too early to say trade up. FO will hit the combine and do a lot of research. My guess is we'll see many different draft boards shuffling #3 - #8 from here until June 28th. Patience will be a good route for a few days.

I never think of mocks or drafts with trades in mind unless something leaks near the draft..fact is if a trade is going down it will draft nite..this board has a hard time talking draft without trade talk..like you I'd rather sit @ 4 and see what's there.

Why trade up? Is MKG that much better? I just don't see it. You don't trade up 2 spots to draft Gerald Wallace.

Here's the Robinson argument--
1) Robinson & Tristan might compliment each other. Robinson does the positional defense, defensive rebounding and scoring from called plays. Tristan is good with shot blocking, offensive rebounding, and scoring from chaos.
2) In theory, drafting Robinson might allow the Cavs to consider trading Varejao for a wing or guard.

Neither one of those guys are long term answers at C. Playing at the same spot diminishes both of them.
