Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watched The Departed for the first time in years. So fucking good. Probably my favorite crime movie.

Ironclad was uch better than expected. If you loved kingdom of heaven you will like this.

I see they switched the actors between Kick Ass 1 and 2. I was referring to the first one. I have zero interest in seeing Kick Ass 2. Loved the first one, but heard the second one is far more violent and less comic like.

I really like the lead in Kick Ass, and I like Hit Girl, but I wasn't thrilled when I saw that Jim Carrey was in the new one. I'll catch it when it reaches cable.

Basically, you were right in regards to the 2nd one.

Oh yeah. This one is WAY darker. I went into it thinking, "how bad could a supervillain played by Chris Mintz-Plasse really be? The answer is pretty fucking bad. He orders torture, decapitations, arson, rapes, etc. Really satisfied by the ending, and I think they plan on making a third one, which may be one too many.

From what I've read Kick Ass was planned as a triology (depending on the how well the first film did after release) and the director is trying to start shooting the 3rd with-in the next year so the younger actors don't age too much

Another reboot.

Watching "Pulp Fiction" 10/10 - easily

Im late to the stand up...

Bill Burr is my by far favorite, he is getting huge but I have listened for a very long time and it's mainly because his anger and views are right on line with mine.

Greg Giraldo was amazing, it's a shame he isn't with us any more because that guy was hilarious.

Louis CK is good...but his range doesn't seem to be as wide as others so his material may become stale quick.

Somebody else mentioned him, but John Mulaney is good. Hannibal Burress has a very good dry and simple approach that I like.

Absolutely cannot stand Patton Oswalt, he reminds me of a kid that was a loser growing up and made some jokes and thought he was way funnier than what he actually is. I don't find anything good about this guy.

I hate one line comics, so Hedberg, Jeselnik (also dont understand how he got a show), etc... are not entertaining to me.

I enjoy Kevin Hart, but his 15 minutes are probably up. He has a lot of bits that stick with me.

John Caparulo is a funny local guy. Erik Griffin (Montez from Workaholics) is pretty funny.

Trying to figure out what the best "gangster" movies are.
I'm thinking beyond "The Godfather"

I'm watching "Kill the Irishman".
There has to be other movies that seem to rival this.
I've seen and loved "Casino" "Good Fellas", "The Departed".

On a side note - Vincent D'Onofrio is such a fantastic actor.

I agree with the earlier sentiment that Oswalt should stay out of politics. They seem to just be "I'm liberal and you probably are too so let's laugh at this person" rather than coming from anywhere real or smart. And while I agree with Cross being fearless, I just think that through his actions and his standup he just seems like an asshole and completely unlikable. The dude did cocaine at the White House Correspondents Dinner, which apparently got his girlfriend banned from the place. It's the kind of thing that can be interpreted as legendary or dickish. I'd say dickish, but he wouldn't give a shit. I think his politics are agreeable but presented in the exact way that perpetuates the stereotypes conservatives have.

I have recently watched "Into the Wild" which was well executed on most levels. I liked it but I didn't love it because it was a movie that glorifies the protagonist far too much. The guy was irresponsible and selfish.

Also, that RoboCop movie could be good, but the black suit is dumb and so is it's PG-13 rating. On paper though, Keaton, Jackson and Oldman sounds stellar.

"Equilibrium" - there is so much wrong here. As they are to suppress all feeling, and yet the anger is what they feel, but there's supposed to be no feelings.

I will say that Christian Bale moves very fluidly.

On the comedy topic, I've tried to watch many of them and I seem to lose interest rather quickly. I've attempted Bill Burr, Aziz, and even Kevin Hart. Maybe there are specific ones that I should be watching, or maybe I seem to be too picky on this aspect.

Dredd. Didn't expect it to be that graphic. Kinda weird. I didn't really like it that much. The only thing that was really cool was the visuals, even thought it looks like it was meant for 3d.

Carlito’s Way (the one with Al Pacino not the bad remake), Miller's Crossing (masterpiece from the Coen brothers, one of the best films of the 90s imo), Mean Streets (early Scorsese classic), Once upon a time in America (Sergio Leone epic, rivals the Godfather imo, some think it's a bit long at 3.5+ hrs...) just to name a few... (there are others not as well known like City of God, Election 1+2, Infernal Affairs 1 (the Departed is the remake of Infernal Affairs) +2....)

Great movie. The point is that Bale was one of the only people actually taking the damn suppressant.

^I thought the movie was lackluster, expect for his movements.
Wouldn't watch it again.
