Fuck is boring ?42 was boring as fuck. I recommend "cool world" instead.
I see they switched the actors between Kick Ass 1 and 2. I was referring to the first one. I have zero interest in seeing Kick Ass 2. Loved the first one, but heard the second one is far more violent and less comic like.
I really like the lead in Kick Ass, and I like Hit Girl, but I wasn't thrilled when I saw that Jim Carrey was in the new one. I'll catch it when it reaches cable.
Basically, you were right in regards to the 2nd one.
Oh yeah. This one is WAY darker. I went into it thinking, "how bad could a supervillain played by Chris Mintz-Plasse really be? The answer is pretty fucking bad. He orders torture, decapitations, arson, rapes, etc. Really satisfied by the ending, and I think they plan on making a third one, which may be one too many.
Trying to figure out what the best "gangster" movies are.
I'm thinking beyond "The Godfather"
I'm watching "Kill the Irishman".
There has to be other movies that seem to rival this.
I've seen and loved "Casino" "Good Fellas", "The Departed".
On a side note - Vincent D'Onofrio is such a fantastic actor.
"Equilibrium" - there is so much wrong here. As they are to suppress all feeling, and yet the anger is what they feel, but there's supposed to be no feelings.
I will say that Christian Bale moves very fluidly.
On the comedy topic, I've tried to watch many of them and I seem to lose interest rather quickly. I've attempted Bill Burr, Aziz, and even Kevin Hart. Maybe there are specific ones that I should be watching, or maybe I seem to be too picky on this aspect.
