I can't wait until Kyrie signs his max extension with us so all the terrible articles from the national media will stop and people on here will shut up and stop speculating.

Kyrie may not be worth the max now, but he will no doubt be worth it in two years, maybe next year. Also, Kyrie is better and has more potential than anyone on this roster, end of story.

I'm sitting here and watching this heat pacers game and thinking back at all the pages of statements saying "we can't win with Kyrie as our best player" and other similar statements. I'm thinking that you can win with just about anybody as your best player. You just need at least one or 2 guys who can ISO and score semi consistently. After that the league is about the dynamics your role players create. I hope people get what I am trying to say. Like the Spurs. They have NO player who is the best at their position. But when you have time post up ability working in conjunction with Manu and greens shooting and that works with Parker's speed and vision combined it creates magic. Replace say Parker with Carmelo and on paper it's a better team but since Melo brings a heavy isolation dynamic to the team I think that team would lose first round

It's fine we worry about Kyrie because he's a go to mofo, we need to lock him up for sure, but it think and even more pressing need RIGHT NOW is getting pieces around players we know will be here, and thinking about what dynamics they'll bring when mixed together

You obviously aren't looking at the post to which I responded initially.

I know many will claim, "Mike Brown held Kyrie back" but Dion had to deal with the same circumstance.

Kyrie's TS% year by year
.566
.553
.533

Dion's TS% year by year
.492
.508

Sorry. Even with Dion's improvement last year, he still wasn't close to Irving in terms of efficiency.

Excuse me? What did I say? I still think you are not reading. That's your post. You act like your TS% is something amazing that shows Kyrie is more efficient, when it was already acknowledged that Dion has a much worse ft% that brings his TS% down. You add nothing to the conversation except distracting from the point. The issue I have with you is that you always latch on to a small point and miss the conversation. You go on and on about how TS% is the only one people use, and you miss what is actually going on. TS% can tell you Dion is less efficient, but if you don't look at the individual percentages you don't know why.

You were calling a guy out for something he never claimed. You are arguing a point that doesn't exist.

Never-Before-Seen Footage of Kyrie Irving's Junior Year.

Here is 6'1" Junior guard, Kyrie Irving. Following a standout career at MKA (Montclair Kimberley Academy), Kyrie made the decision to take his talent to the national stage by transferring to basketball-powerhouse St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Due to NJSIAA transfer rules, Kyrie had to sit out for the first 30-days of the season for his Junior Year. Once he was eligible, Kyrie quickly began to draw national attention - St. Pat's won the New Jersey TOC (Tournament of Champions) that same season. Throughout his High School career, Kyrie played AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) Basketball for the New Jersey RoadRunners. They are run by legendary basketball trainer, Sandy Pyonin, who has personally trained numerous D1 and NBA players. Kyrie and Sandy would train everyday going through a variety of workouts including his infamous Full Court One-on-One to 100. Sandy's workout focuses on basic basketball fundamentals, and stresses the details of the 'little things' of the game - this is what Kyrie perfected to make him the player he is today.

This mixtape contains footage of Kyrie Irving's Junior Year at St. Patrick's during the 2008-2009 season and the AAU Basketball season for the NJ RoadRunners.

Pretty fun to see that footage.

So bizarre to hear some people wanna trade this kid. He's got a lot to learn and some maturing to do for sure, but with the #1 pick and a new coach, and the team primed to bring in some fresh help, we're gonna see a whole different team next year in a good way.

I hope you're right! In addition to seeing a "whole new team" I would also need to see a "whole new Kyrie" as well." Hope that's the case.

Because some of us are getting too damn old to wait for someone to "get it" and have seen too many people (in life as well as sports) who have all the talent in the world but can't turn that talent into production.

There seems to be a growing mentality that greatness is conferred based upon "potential". Way back in the old days (Cable TV had only 36 channels kids!), it was earned.

Now put down those vidya games and go play outside ya whippersnappers.

He's not a kid, he's a man. If he starts acting like one I have no problem keeping him going forward.

the biggest reason the Cavs keep on getting the number 1 overall pick is Kyrie. That tells quite a bit about the man.

imo, he hated Mike Brown so bad last season, he refused to play for him consistantly. The way one game he would move the ball and give effort on defense and the next, completely the opposite was quite.......interesting.

Sorry I do not usually disagree with you but I think Luck Is a bigger reason. I mean we had 1.7 chance this year, So unless you are trying to say Kyrie sucks but Is a lucky charm I would agree full on. Now I also agree to the point he Is not nor Is any player other than LeBron and maybe Durant to carry a team to glory. If we had Dion and Westbrook this team would be no better for It. Even LeBron had to team up with two other stars/superstar (Wade) to even get to the finals. Basically we need a good to great coach and make the right pick and trades to get back to even the ECF and I suspect we will soon. It takes a bunch of stars or a few superstars to get team where they are now. Oh and a coach like Pop helps.

If this is true then Kyrie is a worthless piece of shit.

Kyrie was put outside his comfort zone and was working on improving his overall game.. weve seen these type of "dips" before amongst young players before.

Stereo, I love your posts man. But at this point, I don't think you can say that Kyrie is untouchable. I'm not saying trade him to trade him, but if a team offers you up a ton for him, I'd probably have to think long and hard about it.

What you posted could have easily been posted this time last year. And we're still hoping/saying the same thing. The only difference is that we are now one year closer to having to sign Irving to a max deal.

I zoned out half way through and I was sitting here watching the video going "Hey this kid moves like Kyrie". It's uncanny how unique his body looks when hes doing his dribble moves.

Kyrie will be here for awhile...get used to it for those who don't like him

He would be much better suited as a second fiddle. I've never viewed him as "the guy". I think that's part of the problem here with regard to his perception. I'm hoping that the number one option comes from the draft or the addition of a superstar veteran presence.
