Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If the kid ends up being a superstar, the Cavs made a mistake regardless. Love just can't sign for 6-8 years, Wiggins needs to be at best a Wilkins ceiling for the trade to work. If it ends up more a Bryant ceiling, we screwed up bad. Real real bad.
The Cavs will play the Wolves twice this year. All the Cavs will kiss the kid's ass, after the beating to make him feel special. In eight years, Wiggins will be 28 and an URFA, At which point our GM (Lebron), offers Wiggins his starting spot, to be a part of the dynasty. Wiggins will join 30 year old Kyrie, and 31 year old Dion. The ship with Wiggins on it, may have sailed, but it didn't sink yet.

So, you won't be satisfied if Love helps us win a couple of championships?

After watching him play in the Vegas Summer League, I don't think he would be of any help to the Cavs for years to come. He can't handle the ball well enough, or pass the ball well enough, or shoot the ball from beyond the arc well enough to play SG. This means he would sit the bench behind Lebron.

If Lebron had not returned, Wiggins would have started this year at SF, and I think he would have done very well.It would have been a huge waste of a great asset if he sat the bench. Although we didn't need him because of Lebron, Wiggins is the asset that got us Love, who we did need.

I can't believe we are STILL having this conversation.

If Kevin Love helps the Cavaliers win a title and become a dynasty for the next several years, I couldn't care less if Wiggins becomes Michael Jordan on a team that probably isn't going to even sniff the playoffs for the next few years.

Let it go, man. He's gone. Love is here. Time to win now, not time to wait for a key piece of the core to develop for a few years when the vast majority of us would have preferred a healthy Embiid anyway.

Wait. People are still debating the Love/Wiggins trade? Sad.

No, Futuredome is the only one debating the trade. That's not people.

Most of us are just curious to watch how Wiggins' career will unfold, especially after watching his raw physical tools on display while playing for our Summer League team. What's sad about that?

Nothing sad about that at all, as I really do hope he has a stellar career. He seems like a good kid and he has tons of athleticism, I just pray that he is able to put it together in the other areas of his game. I personally hope he and Bennett have good years in Minnesota, and together with Lavine, and maybe even a guy like Okafor if they suck enough this year, that could be a very fun core to watch over the next few years.

Barring injury, Wiggins is going to be a VERY good basketball player, likely a perennial all-star. Minnesota has a nice young core with Rubio, Wiggins, LaVine, and Bennett along with K-Mart and Pekovic.

I watched the NBA league pass and in both games, I've loved what I saw in Wiggins. I wish him the best. I genuinely believe Wiggins and Parker will both be All-Stars in this league. Only injuries would stop them.

I will be following Wiggins closely. Not because I was/am against the trade, but because he is the kind of guy you like to root for. He seems like an extremely genuine kid who loves every second of the fact that he's living his dream. He's got all the tools and appears to have his head on straight. I really hope he makes it.

I can't change my avatar because I really do believe that he was the Cavs' golden ticket to an era of prosperity.

If you think people aren't going to be thinking back to that massive trade you are crazy. We traded 2 number one draft picks for someone. Regardless if we win or not, the trade will be under a microscope by Cavs fans for the next 15 years.

There's nothing wrong with questioning the front office's decisions. We don't have to blindly follow everything Griffin does and accept it as the word of God.

Really? Because by my measure they traded two players who were drafted first overall in back to back drafts and a first round pick that they got from Miami in the LeBron James sign and trade.

Nobody is advocating blindly following anything, so I'm not really sure why you're trying to strawman that in there. But to make claims that the Cavs will have only won this trade if Wiggins pans out to be a Wilkins-level talent is pretty stupid in my opinion.
