Andrew Wiggins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think we dodged a bullet here, but i'm glad wolves fans and everybody else around nba circles for the most part thinks it is great for them. Embiid was the gem of this draft, I was incredibly bummed when he got hurt as I didn't think anybody else was in his league. If Embiid was healthy however I don't think we would have traded for love, so in a way it works out because I don't think we would have been a true championship contender this year with anybody from the draft. One door was shut, but then another one opened up, i'm very pleased with the outcome. I really do help he develops though. Seeing how happy he was on draft night to be selected by Cleveland was amazing.

Don't mind Wiggins and wish him luck but I'm glad I don't have to root for him. His lack of skills and certain oddities to his game (i.e. the lack of finishing ability) really scared me. Particularly concerning was the advanced draft metrics were poor and they matched my eye test. Could really see him taking a long time to put it together like DeRozan and Lebron's prime would have been long past if that happened.

Sad to see you (him) go. I wanted to see my fellow Canuck develop into the star I really hope he is. Not because I want the Cavs to "lose the trade", but rather I want Canada to have a legitimate star player. Outside of a Cavs championship, nothing in basketball would make me happier.

You were a necessary sacrifice, and regardless of what happens I wish you all the very best.

If part of the reason Griffin drafted Wiggins over Parker is that he knew that Flip preferred Wiggins over Parker -- and we have been given some reason to believe this was a factor -- this was an under the radar move for which Griffin will never receive proper credit.

This off-season obviously played out the way it did only because the Cavs unexpectedly won the lottery again, and then LeBron decided to return, and these events were outside Griffin's control. But he played his strong hand well.

I still believe that we intended on keeping Wiggins after we drafted him and that ultimately LeBron James (who we weren't sure was coming) is the only reason Love is here.

I'm happy with how it all worked out but I just don't believe the Chad Ford tweet, Gilbert's reaction, and Griffin talking in depth about how he fits on the team was all a cover up for this deal.

I think we truly viewed Wiggins as a part of our core until LeBron came back.

I wish him luck in Minnesota though!

Will be interesting to see how Wiggins pans out. People will likely debate about this trade forever if he pans out.

But for now, it might be better for him to go be the man in Minnesota instead of being relegated to a role player here.

Regardless, good luck to him.

Wiggins will be a player i keep an eye on. When you watched him play you could see a disconnect from his athleticism to his skills, but it is rare to find someone so 'unskilled' who was so effective. I'm really on the fence with his future. I suppose now hes traded i wish him all star games but only as a dunk contest participant

I wish him all the best, my opinion of him and his value to the Cavs, changed after watching the summer league games.

To think that only a couple of months ago the live TV panel was discussing this tweet I had written.

How times have changed. I wonder how quickly we'll forget the long Embiid VS Wiggins debate. How meaningless does that seem now? I guess as they say, everything happens for a reason.

What's funny is that after all the "obsolete" 7 footer talk, the glaring void on this roster is just that.

There was never a real debate. Embiid was the pick if he checked out physically. He didn't.

Good luck to AW & AB. Still had him as my third favorite prospect in the draft. He is a few years away. Hopefully we will have our first title by then. Best of luck to them both. Won't ever forget that draft day smile (and suit).

Did it change for the better or for the worse? I didnt watch any college basketball last season because I was sure we were not getting any of the top guys. I therefore had no preconcieved notions. What I saw was was an extremely athletic player who was a master at getting fouled and who had an exellent step back mid range jumper. His three point shooting left a lot to be desired and his handle was as bad as the critics claimed. Over the ensuing weeks I slowly changed my opinion as to whether he was untouchable in a Love deal and I recognized that Waiters actually possessed some skills that I dont think this guy will ever have. There are also times in the games where he seems to float some.

Just prepare for him to drop 20 one time and on the same night Love only drops like 15 and the whole world craps on us lol
