when Zach LaVine got drafted by the Wolves, he looked like somebody had just told him he was going to Siberia. This was accompanied by the “F–k me” Vine heard round the world.

It was a dark time all around.

This new team of alley-oop artists just made the Wolves exciting again. Every night is going to be a dunk contest. Every player wants to be there. And instead of the team facing the “win or Love might leave” pressure that has haunted this whole franchise the last few years, there are zero expectations now. They would’ve won more if Love had stuck around, but without him, this is a team people can actually love. Isn’t that better?

Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett may be better off with Timberwolves

It's better for me, knowing my personality and what I need to do, to go somewhere where I'm forced to be something as opposed to going in there where they're going to be patient with me and I'm going to be a piece."

Self said that he initially thought everything worked out perfectly for Wiggins, who would have a chance to win immediately in Cleveland. But he also saw Wiggins' point: The low-key, soft-spoken swingman could fare better if he's carrying the weight of a franchise.

That would never have happened if Wiggins was playing in James's lengthy shadow.

"Even though in a weird way everybody would love the opportunity to play with LeBron because you're guaranteed winning," Self said, "for the longevity of his career, he needs to develop that mindset to be the guy, for him to be great, and I think being Minnesota will help him do that."

It's definitely spin. Wiggins wants to go to Minnesota now because he knows it's going to happen anyway and he has no control over it. I'm sure if you gave him the choice of playing next to and learning from LeBron or going to a team that may not make the playoffs for the next half-decade, he'd choose the Cavs every time.

But he doesn't have a choice, so now he's saying he wants to go to Minny. As Ben pointed out on Twitter last night, Wiggins is acting like every guy in high school who ever got dumped. He didn't want her anyway!

In many ways I'm more interested in Bennett's development.

Still think he'll be a beast. It will just take time. I'm a fan of his, don't worry, he'll probably be back in 7 years the way the T-Wolves build their teams.
