Ray Farmer Suspended 4 Games for Text-Gate

If we lose a first round pick for this shit I'm fucking done with the NFL. Other teams get slapped on the wrist for much worse violations.

How is taking a draft pick away = punishing the fans? That's kinda silly to say....

I don't know how else to punish a GM-- they do very little, if anything at all, on game days so suspending him for games is a complete waste of time. Though I guess I wouldn't be surprised if Farmer is suspended completely-- no contact with his team for 4-6 weeks or something like that.
 
The NFL is a terribly run organization, nothing that comes from this will surprise me.
 
MKC seems to think that if we lose a pick, it'll be one of the 4th rounders.

Please tell me you're joking. How is it punishing the fans? You know, the fans who root for the team and enjoy the draft as a spectacle...taking away their team's draft pick and thus making the team worse...that would be punishing the fans, the people who are most passionate about this game and these teams in the first place. It's just a job for Ray Farmer. Explain how losing one of his picks punishes him. He's doing a job- so you take away one of his tools. Is he still getting paid? Does he still get to go to work? Yes to both.

I'm not a fan of professional wrestling so I don't share the same type of fandom you do. The fact is, this is the worst franchise in all of sports for more than a decade.

What is old is reading AZ's hot takes about a team that won't amount to 5 wins next year. How does this happen in real life?

Not sure what my being a wrestling fan has anything to do with it, but isn't that why we're all here? To provide our individual takes?

My point is that posts like that provide nothing to the conversation except that they can be viewed as borderline trolling & are unfounded, since Farmer has had 1 draft and it can't even be judged yet.

Let me ask you this...

How many first round quarterbacks have been taken in NFL history that needed addiction rehab after their rookie year?

It's one of the most embarrassing picks in sporting history, let alone NFL history. I used to think that being a Brown's fan through thick and thin was something pretty admirable. Now I think it's time Cleveland fans have some self pride and stop supporting this team. This organization is a black eye on the city.

Nothing has worn out its welcome more than the Cleveland Browns.
 
How many have needed it? Or how many got it? Seems like two separate questions. I think both Marinovich and Leaf needed it but didn't get it. Both showed issues immediately. Not sure if any others who may have needed it but were good football players so no one cared.
 
Don't worry guys, they'll only take draft picks.

How many 1st round quarterbacks should of submitted themselves to rehab and never did. I can think of quite a few that were out of the league within a few year with some type of substance abuse problems.


Manziel put himself in rehab he wasnt forced into it by the law or the NFL. It was his choice and if a guy admitting he has a problem and seeking help brings you shame.. i sorta feel sorry for you. it would be nice if more athletes did these type of things in a society where people too often are ashamed to seek the help they need.
