The Official True Detective Scene

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So right after they get done emphasizing all the underground tunnels that span the entire city, Kitch gets popped by a guy that just happens to know exactly where he will come out?

Why not keep the cop hostage and avoid the pursuit and shootout?

It is starting to come together, but it's still pretty sloppy and overly difficult to follow.

l'm under the impression the cop (Burris) that killed Kitsch was tailing him from the moment he saw Kitsch digging up those files on the CPU.

Also, we didn't see Kitsch kill the police chief (only the guards) so perhaps the chief radioed/called/texted Burris to let him know where Kitsch was going to come out.

Keep in mind, Kitsch's friend/lover/comrade also said "they have eyes everywhere." You would assume they were watching each exit point. Although, Burris being at that exit point is a bit of a coincidence.

Im still upset we didn't see McAdams in the buff :9:

The stakes have gotten way higher, so the show has gotten way more interesting as a result. I hate how they name drop all these damn characters that are clearly very central to the plot, but you cant remember these guys names because they have barely had any screen time. You have to look that shit up after the episode which is never a good sign. This has been an issue all season long which was highlighted with the death of "who the fuck is that guy" Stan.

They hinted at her doing some freaky shit in the sack, and then never went there. What a huge missed opportunity that was. I guess we have to just take what happened to her as a little girl as the reason why she is the way she is, but we want more details!

No comments on the finale? I thought it was alright. Whole season didn't live up to my expectations, but that might have been my fault for setting them too high. Hated Colin Ferrel's character most of the season because he was just too cliche for me, but he grew on me in the end. I was yelling at him not to get off at the exit where his son was, knew that would come back to bite him in the ass. Shows they did a good job getting me to start caring about what happens to him.

Also was hoping Frank would make it, but that may be due to the fact that I was feeling kind of down today and needed a happy ending to cheer me up, so idk why I thought watching this was a good idea, lol.

Yeah, I think everyone knew that Valcoro would die if he visited his son. It really should've been a happy ending with his son, even if he does die. Seeing that his son carries his badge around was a good way to end it. But they had to add that stupid bit about him uploading a message to the cloud (he didn't need more closure), and then the paternity test confirming him as the father. Even with him dieing, he still had a positive end to his arc, but had the ruin it.

Also, WTF is Frank thinking? He let's guys rob him of 1mil, is all prepared to walk back, then gets stabbed over a jacket? WTF. Another stupid ending.

Felt like waiting for a top prospect to develop into a star but he just ended up being pretty good.

He wouldn't give the guy his jacket because he had $3.5M of diamonds in it.

What an uninspiring season. I'm glad it's over. I didn't care if the characters lived or died, really. I think I was pulling for Vince Vaughn's character to get over, but oh well...he didn't. No McAdams boobage either. What a let down.

Vince Vaughn for sure grew the most during the season. Velcoro going to see his son was so telegraphed that it was insulting(although not as bad as last years bologna tax write off clue), and you knew he was boned as soon as he veered off; just like what happened in heat when deniro just had to kill mullet guy. McAdams looked like

with that haircut. A shaved head would have been an improvement over that atrocity. We also never found out about her weird kinkiness. That extra half hour didn't really add anything. We could have done with a little less of that opening argument between Frank and Jordan. Franks walk through the desert after he was stabbed was badass though. Really powerful stuff there and quite FRANKly saved the finale from being just brutal. Nicky boy is 0-2 in closeout situations as far as i'm concerned though.
Also, how in the world does this

Her weird kinkiness was a vehicle to communicate her sexual appeal and to imply her desire and ability to impose her will over men.

The intro scene, which I'm pretty sure you're referencing, implies she inserted something into a guy. That's what that symbolizes. Her pegging dudes isn't a subplot

It would have been a better subplot than weird family and getting in a van. The season was a disappointment compared to last season, but this finale was better than last season mainly because of Frank walking the plank.

This shit was just weak honestly.

Hope they right the ship

Ps love how nic calls killing the leads cheap writing, then proceeds to kill off practically every lead

It wasn't awful, but it was a disappointment for sure considering how good last season was (minus the finale). Vince Vauhn got better and better. Farrell was consistently good throughout the season, but his character as pointed out before was cookie cutter. I enjoyed Kitche when he got to show his military prowess, but his subplot bored me to tears. McAdams character, like Viagra cop, never grew on me. Her subplot could have been good if they developed it further with her weird dad. That never really went anywhere though. I think they bit off more than they could chew with so many characters though. The main mystery, or plot was just okay. The corruption going on in vinci and who killed casper wasn't as gripping as that terrifying maniac that was on the loose in the south.
