Count me on the list of people who are extremely skeptical of Farmer.
Of course he hit on a few picks. Every GM does. But his misses have just been atrocious. Seriously, did they even interview any of the guys from last draft? Either Gilbert has the world's best poker face or we really didn't dig deep enough on him. Bitonio was a great pick, but Kirksey is a TBD imo. We can't count that as a hit yet. Regardless of who you think made the pick, Farmer will always be known as the GM who took Johnny Manziel with Teddy Bridgewater on the board. If Ray really signed off on that (which from his own words he did) then that is enough to be fired. Now trading West for a conditional 7th. We sure do give up on players fast...
Good hits on UDFA, but to be fair Crowell has always been ultra talented. We have just been lucky the character concerns have proved false so far.
I give them credit for cutting Mayle because he is hot garbage, but seriously why in the love of hell was he ever taken. Because at the time of the draft he looked like a worse Greg Little. If you really like WRs that can't get seperation and drop everything that come their way that much then fine. Take them in the 7th. Or sign Greg Little. But we took a guy who can't catch in the 4th.
The Bowe signing was a lolapalooza.
I know everyone wants to talk themselves into the guy to feel better about the future, but I really haven't seen much to inspire confidence with Farmer. I want to believe
I just don't right now.
Doesn't it concern you that the bolded text applies to THREE of the guys we got in the first 4 picks from last years drafts. And also didn't just pick them, the front office felt so strongly about all 3 guys that they traded up for all 3. None of them are starting this year. Two were first rounders...
