I mean if you can get Manning and Gase that would be pretty solid. I really wanted Gase 2 years ago. He's proved he can do good things in multiple spots and he isn't just a product of Peyton Manning's greatness.
Keeping Flip is a good idea. I think he can develop into a good OC. He's gotten the QBs to actually play at an average level which no OC has done with the Browns since Derek Anderson. The problem is this type of scenario rarely happens. The coordinators typically are let go along with the coach. Not saying it's impossible but it's unlikely.
I'm not sure a guy like Dennis Allen is the best fit at DC if Gase is at the helm. I think you would need an experienced DC to be the czar of the defense.
As far as taking Joey Bosa. I mean I'm not sold on taking a DE as the number 1 pick, especially when I don't believe in Manziel at all. Everytime I think of Bosa I think of JJ Watt and his impact on Houston's W&Ls. I'm not especially keen on taking a 4-3 DE and that being the driving force to revamp the defense.
The problem with the Browns is not only do we change coaches, we change GMs and general football philosophy every 2 years. We flip the roster because the players from the past regime don't fit with the 'new' schemes. The 3-4 is a proven defense. We have pieces that fit those philosophies. Stick with it and change out a few guys a year not 50% which would be needed to go to a 4-3 base.
