What the logo IS is an anthropomorphic cartoon face for our baseball team. It doesn't even have a body attached to the face! That is what it objectively is, and anything beyond that is reading into "what you want the logo to mean".Once again, this is NOT how things work. I get it that "nostalgia" is very pervasive. That's frankly the only reason we're even having the discussion. It's not about what you want the logo to mean. It's about what the logo is. People shrugging it off or saying that it's an annoying topic doesn't make the topic any less important or the logo any less embarrassing.
It's crazy how pointing out blatant racism is being spun as sensitive and liberal. Can't tell you how many people I've observed in my circle and out that were against any change whatsoever and eventually had that "a-ha moment". Once it clicks in your head, it's a wrap. Zero to do with sensitivity.
Like, I love this team and want to rock the logos. It's not fun going against the grain with hometown sports and having to avoid the merch. There's a reason more and more people are discussing this and bothered by the branding. It's not because it's a blast doing it.
There is plenty Chief-less gear available to buy, just fyi.I really wanna buy some Indians gear; especially now... I'm hoping to get some jerseys for me and my wife (she's a Dodgers fan).
But I can't wear/buy/support Chief Wahoo....
Hear's to hoping they change it this offseason..
You can get gear without the Chief on it. The AL Central shirt doesn't have the ChiefI really wanna buy some Indians gear; especially now... I'm hoping to get some jerseys for me and my wife (she's a Dodgers fan).

I think you missed my point. The government stepping in and making a law forcing the Indians to do something is something no one should support no matter how much you despise the chief. It isn't their place.Curious, would you ride as hard for these other two? Would it be overly sensitive to say that those were inappropriate?

Plenty.Are there chief-less jerseys?
Just hypothetically based on macb's comment. Is that happening? Or are we talking about the Supreme Court's Redskins case?
Yes. Nearly every Indians jersey on the MLB shop, you can buy a jersey with a Chief Wahoo patch on the left sleeve, or an identical option with nothing printed instead. Are there chief-less jerseys?
Didn't @shoes22 say in another thread that the MLB already backed the Indians on this and the Blue Jays can basically do diddilidy doo about thisEdit.

BTW, complete petty bullshit by Ontario here. Oh you have such a problem with the Chief? Interesting this is the time you choose to bring it forward when your team is playing them in the playoffs down 0-2. We play in toronto every year and have for a long time.
What they're doing IMO is despicable. Trying to capitalize off of a controversy to "help" their baseball team. Fuck off
