I'm ok with dumping Chief Wahoo, but refusing to say "Indians" is just stupid. And this from a country with a team named then "Eskimos".

I guess you can't say Irish, or Yankees, or Canadiens, or Canucks, or Texans, either. All of THOSE are demonyms, TOO.

The Indians are a proud people. There are over a billion in India, and a bunch more in the diaspora. They fought fiercely for DECADES, in order to throw off the yoke of the British Empire. The Cleveland baseball franchise does honor to them!

I think the Amorite theme would be cool

Of course these are people who hung out in Mesopotamia and immigranted in such large numbers. Shu Sin built a 170 mile wall along the tigris and euphretes.

The Sumerians hated Amorites who they considered savage for their nomadic lifestyle.

The wall did not Help the UrII Dynasty as Shin Su's Son reign was plagues by Amorite attacks. this in combination of a drought that also was responsible for ending the Akkadian empire led to the kings capture by the elamites.

but it would be a joy to have these Semite Caucasians as the Cleveland mascot
