this was all made possible by the sign and trade from not matching Milwaukees RFA offer.Thank you Griff
He essentially turned Mike Dunleavy Jr, a retired Mo Williams, an injured Chris Anderson, and a 2019 first round pick into Kyle Korver, Derrick Williams, Deron Williams, and Andrew Bogut.
Transaction history
Traded Matthew Dellavedova to the Milwaukee Bucks for Albert Miralles and $200K. Cleveland create $4.8M trade exception with this deal
Traded Albert Miralles to the Chicago Bulls for Mike Dunleavy and Vladimir Veremeenko. - Cleveland used Delly's 4.8 TPE
Traded a 2017 1st round draft pick to the Portland Trail Blazers for a 2018 1st round draft pick. (2018 1st-Rd pick is Cleveland's own pick, previously traded to Portland in Feb. 2016)
Traded Mike Dunleavy, Mo Williams and a 2019 1st round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks for Kyle Korver. (2019 1st-Rd Pick is top-10 protected)
++ they also used part of the AV trade exception to create new exceptions for Dunleavy and mo Williams that don't expire until next January
Although People seem to dismiss the value of the Portland trade to swap picks. It allowed them to put a protection on the pick as insurance in case something really goes wrong that season.
so while some like to cry about losing Delly. Griffin was able to turn it into a positive.
