The mystery deal discussed lol (take your wild guesses)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From what Wizards fans say, Jamison is probably available. He is not great defensively but he is a guy who imo would work hard on that end. He seems like a good guy and i think he would buy into our system. BUT!!! The guy is 32 now and has 4 years left on his current deal. We would have him until he is 36yrs old. He is playing really well but i don't know if i would take the risk. Players at that age could start declining really quickly.

I would atleast ask about Butler if i'm Ferry. Maybe offer something like AV/Wally/2009 first for Butler/Thomas.

We already have Jamison Light on the roster in Wally. SF with bad knees converted to pf. I want nothing to do with Jamison. That is the wizzards albatros along with agent nothing's huge dumb ass contract.

The Clippers would like to move forward with a full complement of players. They'd also like to explore tinkering with their roster, which would feature an abundance of starting-caliber big men in Randolph, Chris Kaman and Marcus Camby. One source said the Clippers are talking to the Charlotte Bobcats about a package that would send Kaman to Charlotte for Jason Richardson. However, another Clippers source said, "Kaman's not out there."

Seems like the Bobcats are shopping J-Rich. I would love to get him here. He would be a great fit IMO.

What about a three-way trade between Clippers, Bobcats and us:

CLE incoming:
J-Rich
Sean May

LAC incoming:
Wally
1st pick via CLE
2nd pick via CHA
(Cash?)

CHA incoming:
Jason Hart
Chris Kaman

This is a no-brainer from our perspective. We get a starter shooting guard and a decent big of the bench. Only to give up Wally's expiring.

Bobcats would do this trade IMO. They get a young center to play along Okafor. Jason Hart is an expiring.

I'm not shure the Clippers would agree to this trade. But if we give them a 1st and cash, while Bobcats give them a 2nd, maybe it will go through.

Thoughts?

Why do the clips do this? They want talent not picks. Not expirings.

Unless the Clips would be interested in AV, I don't see how the CAVs can get ithemselves in the middle of J-Rich for Kaman, if indeed that is a deal truely being discussed and not some unsubstantiated rumor, which ocassionally find their way onto this Board.

If that deal is really being discussed i can't see us offering anything that will alter that deal. Kaman for JRich fills both teams needs. The clipps would have a strong line up, but you would have to see if they can all co-exist together.

pg. baron davis
sg. jason richardson
sf. al thorton
pf. zach randolph
C. marcus camby

thats a lot of talent......

And they'd have an amazing bench of Eric Gordon, Ricky Davis, and Mardy Collins. :chuckles:

The Cats are desperate for a big, which is why they're now shopping Richardson. I highly doubt we get anyone from Charlotte without having to give up AV in return.

If J-Rich goes to the Clips, Ferry's legitimate options for a 2, certainly will have shrunk (VC anyone), at least until the trading deadline when perhaps Redd or others might (????) be available.

With the recent Knick & GS deals and proposed deal between the Clips and Cats where is W&G on all of this?

I know, and I did say so in my post.

But LA's currently salary are at $58,817,618, which put them $135,277 over the cap. Next year their salary will be at $52,721,109.

If I calculated correctly, they will have a salary at about $40,000,000 if they let Wally's contract expire after this season. That would give them roughly $18,000,000 (- draft picks) to sign players next off-season.

Clips aren't going anywhere this season. I won't say they would be completely against expirings.

good debate, way to back up your position with facts. I am not sure they are ready to give up on the season yet. They are still trying to sell tickets. Wally becomes more valuable at the deadline than he is currently. At this time, i dont see many wally options until teams get desperate to get under the cap more. (although new york gave away the farm for 2010, idiots)

I was just looking at some teams and thought of an interesting trade, something to consider if the Cavs thought resigning Andy is slim. Portland is actually one of the teams i thought might consider offering him a contract in the offseason because they can't feel too comfortable about Oden's long term health. The idea was Varejao/Pavlovic for Outlaw/Pryzbilla. My thinking was that Wally eventually gets moved for a 2 guard and Outlaw fills Wally's role as that guy who plays between the sf/pf position off the bench. He is 6'9 and can probably guard the 2-4 position with his size and athleticism. Plus he can shoot the 3, he has shot 51 of them so far at a 49% clip. Then Pryzbilla is still a good defender/rebounder like Andy but can also block some shots. The only thing i worry about in that swap is Pryzbilla's agility compared to Andy's.

Then imagine how valuable Outlaw could possibly be in a trade down the line. Maybe next season, a team like Toronto could trade Bosh if they feel like he is gone, if the Nuggets don't make the playoffs this season they could start considering moving Melo. Outlaw could be a good center piece in deals like this along with Wallace's 14m expiring next season.

It was just a thought, no reason to get uptight about it if you don't like it. I just thought it was an interesting idea that both teams might consider.

Its a good idea but the only way i sort of see portland doing a deal like that with us is if there is a third team and portland gets a veteren PG. They have been looking for on and imo Outlaw is a center piece for them to get a PG.
