A take of two adjustments. Not coincidentally, both related to Jarrett Allen getting hurt against the Fucking Bucks..again…
The Cavs after losing Allen for the night, we’re forced to adjust their pick and roll coverage on Giannis, Bickerstaff opted for Robin Lopez and a early show and drop…Inexplicably….
Turned the offense even further towards anemic by pairing him with Okoro. Neither guard was able to go supersonic tonight because the bucks are too switchable when you can’t punish them on the interior with two high level 7 footers.
Mobley has shown signs of greatness this year, but he’s also shown that physically, he’s a year away from being a year away…and that’s OK. That, despite all of the feces I’m sure is being flung at him tonight, is okay. Him and L
Allen are a dominant force together but apart Mobley isn’t there physically..and that’s okay. He’s barely able to have a beer legally.
My ultimate concern rests with the decision making by Bickerstaff after suffering what was another annoying and degestating blow losing Allen for the night.
But we knew Robin Lopez wasn’t the answer after this same experiment in game 1 of this matchup.
Cavs should have gone small, spread the floor, and gunned for a 120-115 game. Win or lose. But that 35-10 beat down was embarrassing.
Was Diakite available tonight? He’s a guy who could have at least held up physically next to Mobley tonight. At least someone who doesn’t hang your pick and roll guards out to dry against the best player in the world playing with a well oiled championship caliber roster that know each other intricately on both ends
I’m encouraged by a great first half. Extremely annoyed by the continuous nagging injuries/illnesses, and disappointed in the coaching after a couple of nice performances recently, one against the Hawks specifically.
