Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He only exceeded expectations because the rest of the team is extremely soft. There are players available who can replicate exactly what he does.
Then how do you explain the current winning streak, in which he has played a big part?

This is a little bad news but happening at a great time. Give Pete Nance some time at the bottom of the rotation. Then slip in Isaiah for a week. By the time our young prospects wear out their welcome, the trade deadline is around the corner.

He played a huge part with his 5 points and 5 rebounds when we won a bunch by double digits. Lmao. He's been so incredibly average. He had the third lowest plus minus last night... I really don't know what you're trying to accomplish here but it's wrong and not working.

Do you watch the games or just read boxscores?

He has energy but those players are a dime a dozen. You guys are all just way to connected to him because he's a Cavs legend now but move on. He's a dumbass who got caught taking PED.

Tristan has one job on the floor, and he did it quite well. If he was getting double doubles playing 15 minutes off the bench I'd be shocked.

The focus on his box score when he sees the floor in limited minutes is hilarious.

The wild thing is that I read that those drugs he took are associated with bodybuilding, rather than "performance". Or the kind of cheating that would have really raised some eyebrows.

I'm guessing there's at least one Kardashian who would back that up.

While backing that up.

Can we get rid of Tristan now to free up that roster spot?
Cavs are eligible to get a temp roster spot for Tristan after 5 games without waiving him, but they already have a free roster spot after the Rubio buyout, so not such a big deal right now. Cavs also have about 3.1 Mil space under the luxury tax after the Rubio buyout, so the Cavs could pick up someone at any time, but I suspect they want to keep the roster spot and the salary available through the trade deadline to keep other options open. I imagine Damian Jones is going to get some burn in the short term.

That's the bigger question. Cavs need a vet leader in the front court with some attitude because Mobley and Allen suffer from being too nice sometimes.

I read up on those drugs too. One of them is used for people who have muscle wasting. I am wondering how it is connected to his 2018 injury. That calf injury was a real turning point in his career where he didn't have the springs anymore. He still doesn't, but they look better than he has in years.

I wonder if it has anything to do with that injury which he once said he was not sure he would ever "fully" recover from.

that's a good question. almost forgot about that, but it does explain that he just can't get up the way he used to. the major drawback on a team that loves the lob.

I sort of agree, but for the role needed when Mobley is back, not sure what we give up to get a back up center who will get a bunch of DNP-CD when healthy and Tristan will be back.

All joking aside, I am not sure what Biyombo would want, if he will take vet min, but I dont see anything better in trade giving up min assets than Bismack, which is who I target with the open roster spot.

Obviously if a 3 point shooting 4/5 becomes available you grab that, but they have to be able to play the 5 or chances they take minutes from Wade/Niang are slim.

I agree with almost everything, but honestly lately Allen has been playing mean and with an edge. Not sure if that is Tristan's influence, but just play Allen 48 minutes a game, lol....ok maybe we need to play Jones some of that time or bring in Bismack, but can we atleast try 48 mins for Allen first? lol

I have been looking around at Stretch 4/5 players and the market is not great at all. The one I thought was gettable at a decent price went to NY with OG. I have brought him up before, but if the Cavs could manage a way to get Reath, that would be amazing. Not sure exactly how they would accomplish that though. That guy has been for the Blazers what CPJ has been for us, but they suck so they give him playing time.

Sam situation as CPJ, two way contract. 27 year old rookie who went undrafted in 2018, 5 years later he found his way to the league.

Listed as a center at 6'9 245lbs. with a stupid standing reach?

Probably can play center better than Wade, but how much better? And why would Portland trade him, on a 500k contract and getting minutes? Will have to convert him at some time, but it will only be a rookie contract. What do we give up to get him? Worth more than a 2nd probably, not worth a 1st though and we dont have one to trade.

I applaud you for the deep roster dive though. I say go with what we have, bring in Bismack on a vet min after the deadline and call it a day.
