Dan Gilbert Statement

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That we know of. Lets get all the facts and evidence out before we start saying no one did anything wrong. Oh and Lebron disrespected Cleveland and the Cavs franchise. I would have been worse.

Believe me, I am right there with you. I am just talking from the casual fan/athlete's perspective. For instance Ocho Cinco tweeted:

So when a #freeagent leaves he's a traitor but when a team cuts your ass its part of the business? #justsayin

They just see LeBron as exercising his rights in free agency. For them, it's a business and he made a business decision.

Dan Gilbert looks like a bitter old man, just classless.

:thumbdown

LeJudas' entire free agency spectacle was classless. Gilbert was just saying what was on every clevelander's mind.

I am not going to miss the LeBitch fans on this forum and in my own personal life.

Good riddance to the LeBitch and all his nut-huggers.

IMO this is why they should do away with FA in all sports. Also I wonder what Stern thinks of this mess and if he is a little bit involved.

Its not THAT he left, its HOW he left.

That's the point 'Bron defenders are missing.

These pro athletes don't understand anything. They make millions and wanna talk about business to fans at a time like this? The business side of things are supposed to be done by front offices, not players.

People are going to feel strongly, one way or the other, about Gilbert's letter. As a Cavaliers fan, I loved it. I've heard others say it's sour grapes from an owner who lost his best player and it's disingenuous as this would have never come out if James chose to re-sign. I understand both points of view, but Gilbert needed to come out strongly and try to restore confidence in Cavaliers fans.

You can't fault a player for exercising his right. If LeBron didn't want to be here thats fine. We don't need anyone who doesn't want to be here anyway. So I agree with Ochocino in that regard.

But the fucking charade he put up for the last few weeks has been nothing short of disgusting. That is NOT normal for a free agent. I'm sorry. And tonight was the Coup de Fuckin Grace.

LeBron is slime.

Also in no way should a player have more power to dictate the course of a league than an owner/gm/agent. What we see is a group of 3 players that are more powerful than the NBA commish. They can stack a team with talent just because. There is no more competitive balance because of this mind set. That is an issue that players have more power than the league they play for.

Anyone who says anything negative about Dan Gilbert simply must not be a Cleveland fan. When have we had an owner in Cleveland that cares THIS much? LeBron looks like the bitch in this sense because of how he handled this whole thing.
