'14 RCF Mock Draft: RD 3 Detroit Lions (mofire)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Miami Dolphins select:

Dakota Dozier, OT/OG, Furman Paladins

DozierD2011Samford1_thumb.jpg

Dozier started all four years at left tackle, but was moved to guard at the NFL Combine and performed as if he'd played the position for years. He is very athletic, and finished near the top among OL in the 40-yard dash, 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle drills.

He was a wrestler in high school, and uses those skills on the football field. He needs to get stronger (he posted one of the poorest bench press reps for OL at the Combine), but his athleticism and quickness make him an interesting prospect as the Dolphins continue to address their offensive line.

The Chicago Bears select

Tre Boston, Safety, North Carolina.

Boston is a pure potential pick. Not sure if he's a starter right away, but give him a few years and he could become a ball hawk. The problem with him is he needs someone to light a fire under his ass. Enter Peanut Tillman, who should provide the veteran leadership to get that done. If Boston lives up to his potential, he will be a rangy and effective safety in the NFL, a real centerfield type player in the defense.

The Cleveland Browns are on the clock.

With the 83rd pick in the 2014 RCF NFL Mock Draft, the Cleveland Browns select.....

Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU

The Browns take the plunge on a risky pick... At this point in the draft, the Browns could've gone multiple directions, but they choose to take the best RB on the board. After maturity issues keep Hill from being picked higher, the Browns see his skill as an opportunity. Hill won't be pressed into duty and he shouldn't hinder Dion Lewis' workload as a complimentary back. Also, as a former SEC back, Ben Tate can teach the young man a few things about being a citizen of the NFL. The skill is undeniable, notably his penchant for being a swift hole hitter, like Tate. Is this pick absolutely necessary? I see tremendous value in grabbing Hill for this offense that is in dire need of pure talent. Even though Kyle Shanahan was able to make Alfred Morris a stud out of seemingly nothing, this pick should passify his desire for weaponry.

2014 Browns Draft Picks
1) Blake Bortles, QB
26) Bradley Roby, CB
71) Paul Richardson, WR
83) Jeremy Hill, RB

The Arizona Cardinals and cafemerald are now on the clock.

I have to supervise. Family visitation, I might take a couple hours once I'm on the clock.

Oops. My B.

Michael Schofield. OT. Michigan.

Brandon Thomas OT Clemson

Well this was fun.

With the 91'st pick in the draft, the SAINTS select:

Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia

Drew Brees isn't getting any younger, and Murray would be the perfect prospect to learn behind Brees for a few years. No brainer.

LOOK OUT!

With the 92nd pick in the NFL draft, the Eagles select...

Christian Jones, OLB, FSU.

With some of Philly's LB's getting old, Jones is a good candidate to replace them. He needs a lot of seasoning, but the size, body type and athleticism are all there to make him a special teams contributor and back-up right away, and a potentially stand-out starter for them down the road.
