Yeah, the Braves hat, that's a little over the line. Indians? No. Just a guy smiling. Didn't realize that was sooooooooo fucking offensive.

You know what they need? Plain hats.

Real ball players would appreciate them.

OK, this isn't going to turn into a logo debate, so let's put a stop to it now.

Hawkins, I'd tend to agree with your assessment of a surprise pitching candidate. The Indians are definitely the type of team that tries to help guys revive their careers. If Oswalt has ANYTHING left in the tank, expect the Tribe to make an attempt to get it.

No Chief Wahoo, no buy. People want to protest the Chief Wahoo? I'm going to protest the block letter C.

They aren't eliminating Chief Wahoo (yet)...these are just the BP hats

Surprise candidates IMO would be a Matsuzaka type.

Oswalt has no interest in Cleveland.

Played in less than 90 games just twice in his career.

For peanuts, he's easily going to be better than Aviles' bat, and the alternative spot on the roster is Chris McGuinnes, Mike McDade or some other replacement bat.

Easy decision, IMO.

In the last 5 years, he's played an average of about 86 games. He had a sub .800 OPS for the first time in his career last year. He is rapidly deteriorating. Has to be a better option out there.

You say that, but make sure not to make any suggestions.

Question for you Boobie

With Joel Hanrahan being traded to the Red Sox for 4 players I'm curious to know if the Tribe expects something similar or more back if they were to deal Perez?

I'm not as in tune as used to be with baseball so I'm not even sure how good the guys Boston gave up were aside from Melancon

Boston completed the deal Wednesday, also receiving infielder Brock Holt. The Red Sox gave up right-handers Mark Melancon and Stolmy Pimentel, infielder Ivan DeJesus Jr. and first baseman-outfielder Jerry Sands.

I don't think it's necessarily indicative of what the Indians are looking for or would expect.

What the Pirates received falls in line with what they were looking for, as Sands is the right-handed outfield bat they were looking for and is really the only "prospect" of the bunch IMO.

The Indians can't expect too much for Perez, but I don't think they'd have any interest in the bullpen guys like the Pirates got in return because they already acquired two from Arizona.

I think you could see Perez being dealt for a upper level starting pitcher and a younger, lower level pitcher. They seem to be keeping with this theme of "threading the needle," where they're both unloading contracts and trying to compete now. So I think they'd be in the market for a young starting pitcher from a team with depth like San Francisco or Toronto.
