2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What could be a really interesting draft for us would be for us to win the lottery, draft Davis, then move up to get Quincy Miller. We'd have an extremely lengthy frontcourt between Miller, TT, and Davis, with the all three front court players having wingspans of 7'+, some well in excess of 7'. Also, both Davis and Quincy are excellent ball handlers for their positions and can move around. They're both decent facilitators as well for their positions and really fit in with the Princeton offense.

Then in 2013, we go for Harden and have a lineup of Irving, Harden, Miller, TT, Davis.

Most Good teams are watching and rooting for their team to win a Championship during that time.

Hilarious response....most of us need to be reminded as we thought the NBA season ended a week ago.

Guess this process just keeps fans of all teams engaged in basketball related maters for the duration of the time!
not really? fans of all team would still be engaged in "basketball related matters" if they knew where they were picking.

just getting davis and miller would pretty much be a basketball dream come true. dunno exactly what it would take to move up far enough to get him tho.

The Raptors are the perfect example of why picking 8th every year is not a good thing. Mediocrity only breeds more mediocrity. My home team is a testament to such a statement. Another is GSW, PHX, HOU, Minni, Sac. If you constantly are picking late in the lotto you are missing out on the players that will actually help your team. I am so glad we finally kicked our tank out of reverse and into overdrive.

No matter what we do we should be looking to get Quincy Miller somehow.

it doesn't seem all that unrealistic. he was stuck behind a few players at baylor so he didn't put up ridiculous stats and he still hasn't completely recovered from the surgery. given the strength of this draft, him falling to the mid to late teens isn't unreasonable.

i think it'd be a great spot for the cavs to combine a few of their average assets (lal pick, their 2 2nds this year, sac pick) in hopes of moving up for a high-ish risk, high upside player. he could be one of the biggest steals of the draft. lal pick, one of their 2nds, and a few million? i'd do it if they don't draft gilchrist.

also wuck, has sarcasm been disallowed all of a sudden? :wtf:

In 2004, the year after we drafted Lebron, we added Luke Jackson with the 10th pick in the draft. This year we will likely add one of Davis, MKG, Beal, or Drummond. This difference is crucial. The future is extremely bright.

that's not how it read. though i am not sure how often you are capable of posting something that's not sarcastic...

Lottery - May 30. Draft - June 28.

Anyone know when the lottery is being held?

What has Dwight Howard become the best center in the game by doing? People forget that the best-case scenario NBA comparison still has a very limited offensive arsenal at 26 and after years of working with Hakeem.

Andre Drummond isn't Dwight Howard. He doesn't impact the game the same way. Yes they both have limited offensive games, but Dwight howard is a force on the defensive end and a rebounding machine on offense and defense because of his technique, tenacity, and coordination.
Drummond has no technique, looks uncoordinated often, and it's very difficult to improve a guy that has no motor.
I still think he's Deandre Jordan v2. Forget the Dwight comparisons.
Amare Stoudemire? Shooting 29% from the line, with bad form (tristan had good form, that's why he's improved), and no post game, Drummond won't score like amare.
If you watched Deandre Jordan's youtube highlights, you'd think he was Dwight Howard too. He's not and neither will Drummond be.

I have this horrible feeling the Cavs are going to pick Drummond or Barnes if they don't get the first pick. The only way I can see them really fucking up this draft is if they take either of those two or Perry Jones.
