Harrison Barnes had a 39.5 inch vertica!?! Bradley Beal had a 39 & Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was a 35.5. These numbers surprise anyone else?

Harrison Barnes jumped 38 inches flat-footed. That's by far the best result this year and the 4th best ever in our DB:

My observation: Barnes KILLED the athletic testing. Also, FWIW PJ3 did better than Durant in everything.

How did Barnes have a no step vert of 38 but only a max vert of 39.5? That's odd. Also Beal had a max vert of 39. Not bad for somebody proclaimed to be unathletic.
 
Also of note: Drummond only came out with a max vert of 33.5"

Wtf? Didn't he say that he tested out at 38" and that he could do 40"? I guess he lied. Barnes just showed everyone how athletic he can be. Before these results, I was okay with taking barnes at 4. Now I'm definitely ok with it. It would be awesome if we could trade down to 6 and 11 and still get Barnes.

Barnes and Rivers would be nice. But I don't think Barnes makes it past 5.

In the grand scheme of things they don't mean much, but they mean something. They mostly serve to affirm what we saw in games.

However, the idea that Barnes is an average athlete has been completely destroyed by pretty much every measurement. He may not play like the top 5% athlete that his measurables say he is, but he has the physical tools to be elite. He also looked significantly leaner at the combine compared to in-season, which may have made a big difference for him.
