2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As others have pointed out, very few players selected in the 20's ever become starting quality players.

This is so not true. Unless by "very few ever", you mean "quite often".

Moving up from 4 doesn't make any sense to me. Moving up from 24, however, makes a lot of sense...

I trust that Grant will do what's right for the team. That being said, I think I would rather stay at 4 and grab MKG if he's there.

I feel like #24 and our 2nd round picks could give us a pretty decent jump from #24, maybe to the point where we are in place to grab a guy like Rivers. I would hate to use that bargaining chip to move up 2 spots. I would rather come out of this draft with a combo of MKG and Rivers than Beal and Nicholson

It's still possible to move up twice in this draft given our assets. We could trade 24 and 4 for 2, then we could trade Varejao, 33, and 34 for 7 and Biedrins from Golden State. Both trades would be more than fair, and we might even be able to keep one or both of those 2nds depending on how Grant can play on the value of Varejao.

I'm a huge fan of Beal and would love to get him because I think that he is the most complete player after Anthony Davis. He can shoot, drive, pass, play defense, rebound, block, steal, play off the ball, handle the ball, you name it. He's even more athletic than anyone anticipated. I am all for trading up for the guy. And like I said, we can still move up back into the lottery if we're willing to deal Varejao and we find a team willing to do a trade like the alleged Golden State trade rumor.

I would do pretty much whatever it took aside from trading away one of our core pieces/our first next year to come out of this draft with Beal and Drummond. I honestly believe an Andre Drummond surrounded by great people and hard workers in Irving, TT, and Beal would cause him to focus, work just as hard, and fulfill more of his potential than if he went elsewhere.

No man, wings are wayyy easier to find in the league than a 2-guard.

And how exactly is a wing more of a need for this team than a 2guard ?

This draft we gotta come out with 1) Beal or 2) MKG.

ANd Drummond isn't in the top5 talent wise in this draft, I don't why people are 'coveting' him.

I agree with mhi here. Quality 2-guards are one of the rarer commodities in today's NBA. Most starting off-guards either fill a specific role such as defender/shooter or are gunners that require a high volume of shots to be effective. Bradley Beal projects to be an efficient, two-way shooting guard right out of the box. I think Beal and Robinson are the two players (outside of AD) that have the highest floors and least amount of questions surrounding them out of that second tier of prospects.

I don't think the Cavs can go wrong with picking any of the top six players but there's a lot more peace of mind that comes along with Bradley Beal. Combine that with the notion that his position is more difficult to fill and is currently vacant , it's entirely worth the 24th pick in the draft.

kotoch was on with rhoda today and he kinda hinted that CHA would want 4, 24, and tristan. I dont know id have to think long and hard about that. what do you guys think?

Hell no, unless They feel Beal is a true super star.

You tell them hell no and draft whoever falls to 4.

Nope. Would not consider it. At all. Ever. Dumb. Stupid. ugh.

What is this talk about the Bulls offerring up Noah and Deng for lottery picks? They going all in for Howard? Forget Miami, that would be a really, really hard team to beat for the next 5-8 years.

4, 24 and last years number four overall. Lol Grant would have to be insane.

Edit: For number one absolutely, but not for #2.
