2014-15 Off-Season Thread (Moss Acquired - Page 16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Damn - reports are that Headley has a 4yr $65mil offer, possibly from the Marlins.

Chase Headley had one good season.

Chase Headley

2012: .286, 31 HR, 115 RBI
2013: .250, 13 HR, 50 RBI
2014: .243, 13 HR, 49 RBI

And he'll be 31 in May. Spend away, Miami.

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but Nick Markakis got a 4 year, ~45 million deal from Atlanta to replace Hayward.

Part of Miamis season ticket drive for the winter and firesale this July or next. They do it every year like this.

And Miami is spending 20 million more for a 1/3 of the player. :chuckle:

As much as I'd love for us to be a big payroll team, that shit is ridiculous. I'd riot if we threw that much at a player who gives similar production to Chiz.

Yeah the funny thing is that free agency is the only thing a lot of people care about - and it's becoming more and more obvious that it's the absolute worst way to improve your team. What is the ratio of good deals to bad ones, anymore? It's crazy.

I would be happy with that deal...adds length to our lineup and gives Santana some good protection

The A’s are in discussions that could net them a minor-league infielder from the Indians in exchange for outfielder Brandon Moss. Among the A’s targets, according to big league sources, is Double-A second baseman Joe Wendle, a strong prospect whose 2014 season was shortened by a broken hamate bone.

Wendle the Indians #9 prospect according to MLB.com
