2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Has Lilliard got more tattoos since last season?

I don't remember him having so many that were visible. Granted I don't see many Portland games. But it feels like he's going a little Kenyon Martin with it.

Time to take the Hawks seriously. This is a team that can come out of the East.

Harden is going nuts and Corey Brewer looks like a seamless fit.... And the first half isn't over.

Should be noted that Aldridge and Lopez are out.

Yep, you can tell they really miss LMA on offense. Also, Meyers Leonard decided it was easier to learn to shoot the 3 than a post game.

Gobert with another strong game on the boards and defensively (16 rebounds, 2 blocks). He's already a difference maker on court but in a year or two could be dominant if developed correctly. This guy was picked 27th...imagine if we had him locked up on a rookie contract. Memphis loses at home to the Jazz and should have lost to both Philly and Charlotte.

Chicago comes back and beats Toronto. Rose has a good game for once and the Bulls take like a 100 FTs. Crazy ass Raps fans about to riot.

ATL wins at the Cavs, Mavs, and Houston without Teague. Later on down the line, when playoff seeding comes around, these wins will be big because it's unlikely the many Eastern teams can win at both Houston and Dallas. Of course the Hawks could just unravel, but these those if wins usually decide close races. How have the Hawks gone from a shitty defensive team to a stout one? Milsap and Horfirs aren't rim protectors but are decent defenders otherwise. Korver, Teague, etc. they have a damn good coach. It also shows what chemistry can do. Blazers currently have the number three defense after struggling las year and haven't really made any additions. Playing together matters a great deal.

It's only two games, but the Mavs near historic offense looks like it's gong to take a hit in hopes of a defensive improvement wash.

Okay, so do we all agree Atlanta could be a legit threat this season?

They just beat the Mavs without Teague again.

No chance they beat us in a 7 game series. Wait until April. We will have added two more pieces plus a full strength LBJ then.

Still not convinced that they are. Star power wins in the playoffs.

And the Horford hasn't gotten injured yet (since 2011-12 he's played 35 games in a season 1 time)

The HEAT are lottery status without Bosh and ATL is slowly morphing into SAS east.

Someone should write a case study on them and the Spurs. Call it "A Miracle in Space".

It's basically the antidote to Thibadau's defense that the majority of the league has been slowing adapting.

Atlanta's defense shows that with chemistry, communication, and hustle, you can be a good defense. Horford and Milsap move decently and use their respective bodies well but aren't rim protectors. Korner hustles and isn't a sieve and rather decent but not a stopper by any chance. Thabo is still pretty good but not the stopper he once was. Antic's their best defender really, but there's no Sanders, Duncan, Kwahi, George, Hibbert, Gasol, Ibaka, Wall, Noah out there.

Same can be said of Portland. It went from middle if the pack to third this year without any significant defensive additions. Better chemistry, communication, and effort (big improvement from Lillard).

Lillard and Westbrook putting on a show. Does Lillard ever miss at the end of games?

On another note, T. Zeller in his last three games:

14/4
22/8
22/10

Shooting 65% on the year.

Mason Plumlee has gotten it going as well:

14/9
21/12
19/13

Losing Zeller looks really dumb. Many posters were pointing out that he was the only real C we had if AV went down and he was getting better towards the end of the last year. He has a goog jumper as well so he would have fit well with the roster

Boston has a logjam at C right now, so he may be expendable... Just saying. I don't think we ultimately go after a player like Zeller, but the option is potentially there.
