2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't get all the Curry for MVP love. Statistically speaking, LBJ averages more points AND assists, while he has played lackadaisical in half of our games up to this point.

He seems to have turned it on as of late and if that trend continues, i expect him to be back in the mix quickly.

It's pretty simple - Curry is the best player on the best team and has some very nice stats himself. I don't think many people are saying Curry will/should run away with the MVP voting, but he is certainly a worthy candidate at this point in the season.

We're talking right now. Statistically speaking Anthony Davis has been the best player, hasn't he? But I'm doubting he would garner more than a few MVP votes. There's give and take between being a great player and being on a great team, but Curry, right now, is playing like the best point guard in the league and is on the best team in the league. That's a pretty good combo.

Why is it with our need for rim protection that we can't find guys like Jerome Jordan off of the scrap heap ?

I've long maintained that our player scouts/evaluators dept be cleaned out completely. I seriously believe it's one the weakest in the league. Maybe we can overcome it like the Heat and Dallas (DAL kinda masks it with a strong analytics team), but I think we're gonna have a tough time doing so.

Just in case anyone needed a reminder - Tyrone Corbin is a bad coach.

OKC has everything save an inside scorer but probably doesn't need one with the way Westbrook is playing. He plays less than 30 minutes and puts up monster stat lines game after game. Then of course there's Durant, Ibaka the rim protector who can shoot, Adams, a capable defensive big who can finish, Collison and Perkins for bigs depth, Roberson who has suddenly become a premier perimeter defender, Morrow the shooter who has surprisingly been a good defender this year, Jackson, Jones...that's just a complete team that can score, defend, and rebound. Coach still might be lacking, but damn is that a roster.

They've had pretty much the same roster for a few years. If they can stay healthy, they're a tough team. That's a big if :chuckle:

I was just thinking about the amount of grief LeBron got his first go-around with us for not winning a title. Durant has ten times the roster so I expect for him to start catching some grief this year although the West beig so tough might be a mitigating factor.

Torn ACL for Jabari, out for the season. Ouch. Bad news for the Bucks. Hopefully he can still be the player they hoped for. Wasn't he injury prone in HS?

I think he'll be fine long-term. His game doesn't really rely on elite athleticism and he could always fall into a full time power forward role if he needs to.

I swear to God, Quin Synder coaches high out on something. Either amphetamines or opiates. Most likely the former.

Lol MARC GASOL step through 3 with 2sec to go against the Spurs.

What a game. It's joy watching good teams executing endlessly.

Derek Fisher is such a tool. That's all I got.

GSW don't have Bogut but OKC flexing its muscles right now. The Thunder don't defend as well now that Russ and KD are back as they now win without perfect defensive intensity. OKC' s roster is just deeper than the GSW' s although the Warriors have better individual defenders. OKC knows how to get KD and RW all the shots while role players play their damn roles. So jealous. Roberson and Morrow have been absolute steals for them.

Damn is Draymond a player. Would love to see these two go at it in the playoffs.
