2014-15 Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Demarcus Cousins won't be MVP of anything on a team that wins 40 games.

If anybody in the league could win MVP on a team that doesn't show out in the W/L column, it's Anthony Davis.

In reality, it's going to be Durant or LeBron. LeBron's the feel good story, Durant will have the narrative of leading a team out of the fire of injuries into a top 3 seed in the West.

Don't look now, but James Harden is firmly in that MVP conversation.

I get AD is the media darling but look at cousins/the kings. They can't win without cousins can't beat lakers/pistons and are 2-6 without him. Pelicans win games without AD without cousins the kings are the 76ers.
And cousins destroys AD in defensive impact

Golden State might lose to New Orleans....

I feel a little bit better about being assaulted by Evans and Holiday now that they are assaulting the GSW almost as badly.

Of course Anderson goes 2-8 from three on mostly wide open looks against them but makes them between his legs with his eyes closed against us.

Steph Curry would be the run-away choice for MVP I'd say. By far the best player on by far the best team. Normally that's all you need.

Eh, I get it to an extent. They have 70 million in pay roll. Cousins being out doesn't excuse losses to teams like L.A. Sure, it's way to early to make a move like this, but I get what ownership feels. They are paying to win some games right now, not be headed back towards the bottom of the league.

Dude losing to la so what but det/orlando have more talent than kings with cousins out. If lebron got injured and missed 8 games blatt wouldn't be fired cause he lost to okc/NO without davis

I wouldn't have fired the guy but I think people are getting a little too upset about it. New Jersey fired Byron Scott one year after going to the Finals when the team started out .500 in the first 40 games. It's a rough gig. There are expectations and when they aren't met people get fired. They brought in Darren Collison to give them some more veteran leadership at the guard position, they convinced Rudy Gay to stay. I'm sure that 11-13 under different circumstances wouldn't have gotten him fired, but the way they've been losing recently to the bottom of the barrel teams didn't look good.

Again, I wouldn't have fired the guy but I'm not gonna act like Malone was doing some bang up job that made him immune. Look at that team so far in December. They've got two wins and one of those was OT against a really, really bad Indiana team. They've got losses to Detroit, Orlando, and the Lakers and two of those were in Sacramento. The trend is very bad right now for that team. As in they'll be out of the playoff race in about 3 weeks.

Kobe Bryant shooting an electric 8-26 tonight while getting blitzed by the Pacers. But he passed Jordan's record, so it's excused right?

DRose 7-33 on threes Over the past 5 games. Nobody's guarding him and they're daring him to shoot. His awful shooting is costing the Bulls in these games. The form is all weird as hell, too.

I mean, I love it.
But I seriously don't understand why he's jacking so many 3s...
And yes, his jumper is ugly as ****, tbh.

Jabari Parker down.

Very unpopular choice because of all the prejudice that surrounds him, but I'd say Harden wasn't any worse so far this season. He was single-handedly willing Rockets to wins with his starting PG/PF/C and some rotation guys out. Also playing good defense.

P.S. Notice how careful I was not to put 'Harden' and 'defense' in the same sentence. But it's true, he's a legit defender when he gives an effort - and this season he does.

Good game tonight on ESPN....Golden State at Memphis.
