2014 - 2015 Eastern Conference

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why are we so worried about defense. This team is going to score and share the ball. We have 4 guys who can be go to guys. The Spurs did not win because of defense, they won because they were so incredibly efficient on offense and had multiple guys who could create.

The spurs have no one but Kawai who is above average on D. They just have a good scheme and people know their roles and the position where they should be. Aka smart high iq guys can play good D together

You rate Tim Duncan as an average defender? He's been on the All-Defensive teams an NBA record 14 times, I'd still rank him as well above-average.

I thought him but I let my love bias get into it and thought of love killing him and didn't put him. That wasn't fair to Duncan I guess lol

They didn't win because of defense, but the Spurs defense is still pretty damn good.

A lot of pressure on Rose actually. Not only is he going to have to NOT be injured, but play as well as he as ever played for them to have a shot against us. Which is possible, but he was pretty rusty before he got hurt again last time.

And we aren't done building our team.

He still is a great rebounder and rim protector. But his man-to-man defense is slightly below average and his pick&roll defense isn't really good anymore.
I don't know about his help defense though...

I skimmed those boards and it's funny. Every board is the same. There's dudes over there hating every move Chicago made just like here

Because it's more about people's own personalities than it is Basketball IQ.

People who shit on anything and everything are in all walks of life; alot of it is the Troll factor that got unleashed when the Internet came into being and it allowed them to spew to the most people possible, but it's also about the personality they have. It's like the guy who hates every TV show, movie, artist etc. and loudly yells it to everybody in reach, until they all get sick of it and he's alone.

The internet lets those people do the same, but to a much larger audience (sometimes captive, unfortunately) that they ever would in real life.

It sucks for those who just want to talk about things intelligently and have a good give and take amongst different viewpoints, but what can you do?

I don't know how anyone who watched the Finals could say Duncan is not still a very good help and PnR defender. Age will catch up to him but not last year at least

The thing people are failing to realize was only going to get better as he is gaining experience in the league, and that was before Lebron came back. The same can be said for Love and Dion. This is not even taking Lebron into consideration. And as for us not going to be good at defense... I really don't see any Lebron James led team being in the bottom half in the league in defense. He is the most versatile and probably best one on one defensive player in the league and when you are scoring at the pace we will be teams will be forced to try to get back in chunks (with 3's) and that is dangerous if those teams are cold.

LOL. green and duncan are both above average on d.

Duncan's opponent FG% at the rim is 47% , 4th in the league in total blocks, and 3rd in the league for blocks per game among active big men. These are his stats from this year. It's insane how good he is at 38.

We have three players on this team who would have been the second best player on the previous LBJ cavs teams. We are going to be a juggernaut.
