2014-2015 National Champs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's not happening.

Twitterverse is saying the Michigan OSU game might be at 8 pm.

Odd.

Just keep it at noon. Beating a horseshit Michigan team on primetime wouldn't sway the voters anyhow.

Mark D. Rudner, who handles Big Ten television scheduling for the conference, tweeted that Saturday's meeting between Maryland and Michigan State will be the final night game of the Big Ten season. He added, "No B1G night games last 2 weekends of 2014 season."

Nebraska will move up lots if they handle Wisconsin...I wouldn't worry about that.

#8 is a tad disappointing, but honestly, I'm really happy that Minnesota is ranked.

We need to move up four spots.

I think if we win out we definitely jump Baylor. Baylor is screwed, IMO. That's one spot.

Bama loses one more time, that's another spot.

At least one of Oregon/ASU lose, that's another spot.

That places us 5th. We really only need one "UPSET"

Sadly I have zero confidence Nebraska will win that game. Almost as reliable as death and taxes is Nebraska losing big games.

The timing of the Mississippi State vs Alabama game works well in our favor. Obviously we need to throttle Minnesota first, but if MSU loses it makes things interesting or if Bama loses, we can make a major jump in the rankings.

Yea I've got no idea why people think a 1 loss Miss St. team won't get in. That Alabama/MSU game is not an elimination game for MSU. If they win out after that they'll have wins over Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, and Texas A&M. That's enough.

I'm in agreement with you. I think a one loss MSU team gets into the playoff and as much as I hate to say it, they probably should. Look, as an OSU alum, I'm as big of a homer as there is. But, it can't be questioned that the SEC West is the toughest division in college football. If MSU comes out of that with only one loss, they deserve to get in IMO.

My projection for how this will all shake out is the following (teams are in no particular order):

Alabama gets in since I think they beat MSU, Auburn, and win the SEC title.

MSU gets in since I think they'll only lose to Alabama. I can't see Ole Miss beating them without their most explosive weapon.

Oregon looks to get in as well since they end up running the table and winning the Pac 12.

Lastly, I think FSU finds a way to get past Miami and gets into the playoff as well.

Who called for Meyer's job on this board? That sounds false.

Anyways, even if we don't make the playoff I will be satisfied with actually winning the Big Ten finally. I think I'm getting my tickets to Indy...hope that weekend goes better than it did last year (disappointment in Indy on Saturday, Browns get fucked by the Pats on Sunday, get shot on Monday).

Sucks because there's still 3 games left, but I'd be beyond shocked if this team lost to Minnesota, Indiana, or Michigan. If they face Nebraska in the B1G Title Game, that will be pretty tough though...

I'm thrilled with the direction that Meyer has this program headed. Personally, I think that loss to VT is too much to overcome barring a whole lot of upsets of the teams in front of OSU. That said, I'm excited to see how much the team has improved since the VT game. I also like the speed the Urban Meyer is recruiting as well. It reminds me of what Nebraska did in the early to mid 90s to start to make gains on the FSUs and Miamis of the world in order to beat them. Meyer's recruiting will help OSU have a chance to be competitive against the SEC teams when they do qualify for the playoffs in the future. I feel they've already left the BIG teams behind.

TCU is a problem. Committee loves them. They lost h2h to Baylor but are ahead of them. They have the same record as Bama, and also aren;t leading their conference like Bama, but are ahead of Bama as well.

I had a hard time seeing TCU being in over Baylor as long as Baylor wins the B12 over TCU. Apparently the committee doesn't.

Makes putting up a big number vs Minensota vital.

Also, go Mississippi St.

We need Miss. St. to win, big.

TCU will probably win out. They play shit teams the rest of the way.

FSU may have a tough time with Miami. That is going to be a good game. They also have to get through Florida who are playing pretty well.

Our best hope for ASU losing is Arizona, last week.

Then we need Oregon to go down in PAC-12 championship game.

Odds are against us but I mean it can honestly happen.

Oh Sure it can happen. We all remember 2007 when OSU lost to Illinois and Juice Williams at home. I think we can all say then that it appeared over for OSU. Then, it seemed like about 10 different teams lost at the right time in order to get OSU back into the title game.

As for TCU, I do think that Baylor will pass them if both teams run the table. TCU has beaten the best teams on their schedule already. Baylor, on the other hand, still has OK. St and K St left. Plus, I feel like Minnesota will get diminished as they have to play OSU, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. That said, the committee does seem to like TCU and probably would keep them and baylor both ahead of OSU.
