2014 Free Agency Period: News and Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: 2014 Free Agency Period: News and Discussion (Marion watch)

mental illness is not funny, sorry I just do not see any humor here.

Sorry it is funny.. I'll never buy into the tumblr social justice warrior bullshit. Anything in our society can be lampooned.. Dark humor exists

I side with Matt and trey from South Park when they said "it's either all ok or none of it's ok"

Mods- Are we sure that thanks are working properly? My posts aren't getting thanked, for some reason...

No one reads your posts because they're too distracted by your avatar. :chuckles:

Denver's problem is that they are bringing over Nurkic to play this season, and they already are paying Javale McGee big bucks (11 million per) to play the same position Mozgov does. Kenneth Faried is also going to be due an extension or enter restricted free agency. They also have Hickson on the roster. With Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari also on the books there, someone is going to be let go from the big position, and I doubt it will be Faried.

Mozgov is my favorite target, we could send them 3 nonguaranteed players and a Memphis 1st to take Mozgov off their hands. Or if we don't get Mozgov we can offer them Brendan Haywood's contract for Javale McGee. He's not as skilled as Mozgov, or as intelligent, but he can run the floor and block shots due to his freakish athleticism.

If you look at my post history I've been parading Mozgov for a while now, I really want to get him on this team as well, seeing as Blatt has coached him before and Mozgov would be an even better player with LeBron.

I didn't realize how smart he was. He is really good at being patient in the post, and really good at sealing his man and getting post position very deep. I'm impressed with that.

Also, love how he attacks the rim hard and is physical. He runs the floor much better than I thought. The way he lays back on the baseline, and waits for the guard to drive the paint, and cuts at the last moment to get an easy dunk is beautiful as well. He would fit perfect with our roster. Really hope we can get him.

If the Cavs traded Haywood's contract for McGee I'd shit in my hand and slap myself.. that's how confident I am of that never happening.. Mozgov is the way to go when you are looking at any BIG on that roster

If we add Marion and Mozgov this may be the best team on paper that we have seen in the NBA in a very long time IMO.. those 2 would not only add the D help we need but also are athletic for their size and guys that can give you something offensively and both finish well out in the open court.. also both are smart basketball players

Hmmm :wtf:

I would hate that signing. He can't even be on the court at the same time as Lebron because Moore's 3 point shooting is mediocre. He also does not address the lack of rim protector and it's not like he is a big wing defender than can spell Lebron like Marion. He would be a waste of a roster spot.

Ray Allen Will Make Decision In September

"It's August and I don't want to rush to judgment," Allen said Friday night at the seventh annual Jim Calhoun Charity All-Star Classic. "I want to get to September and see how I really feel."

Re: 2014 Free Agency Period: News and Discussion (Marion watch)

Someone mentioned Withey earlier, and I'm liking that idea more and more. He's obviously not the most talented player in the world, but he's a legitimate shot blocker and a capable finisher inside, and his weaknesses in creating offense and rebounding are easily made up for by the other players in our frontcourt. Stats generally point toward him being a capable roleplayer (15.2 PER, +0.91 Real Plus Minus), and he's shown some potential from midrange (9/15 from outside of the paint, 71% foul shooter). If you squint your eyes he kind of looks like Zeller, but with longer arms.

I'm not saying he should be our first option here when we go shopping for a center, but of all the "budget" options he seems like the best fit. New Orleans has an embarrassment of frontcourt depth and should be happy to get any value in return for him (for instance, our protected 2018 first).
